  • Patent number: 8379086
Abstract: Video monitoring systems usually comprise one or more monitoring cameras directed to related monitored areas such as intersections, parking lots, manufacturing plants, etc., wherein the image data streams recorded by the monitoring camera (S) are often collected at a monitoring center. In the automated evaluation of image data streams, there are known methods that detect moving objects in the monitored area, track them and carry out evaluations based on the detection or tracking.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 11, 2008
Date of Patent: February 19, 2013
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Marcel Merkel, Marco Boltz, Matthias Koenig

  • Patent number: 7039108
Abstract: In the method of coding according to the invention whether or not a predetermined encoder capacity parameter has been reached is tested prior to the actual coding of an image sequence. A reduction of the coding format can take place when the capacity parameter has been reached. The coding is then performed in this reduced coding format. This method can be combined with any coding process, since it does not need to intervene in the actual coding process that is used.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 2001
Date of Patent: May 2, 2006
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Sven Bauer, Peter Siepen, Bernd Schmale, Marco Boltz, Guido Heising, Aljoscha Smolic
