Exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine can be taken past the at least one catalyst unit by way of a bypass conduit, and the at least one catalyst unit and the bypass conduit are arranged in a common housing. The housing has at least two separate feed conduits for untreated exhaust gas and at least one outlet conduit for exhaust gas treated by the at least one catalyst unit.
