  • Patent number: 5437971
Abstract: A process for preparing a monodispersed silver halide grain emulsion characterized in that said process comprises the steps of:(a) forming silver halide nuclei with single jet precipitation by adding a watersoluble silver salt solution to a reaction vessel containing a water-soluble halide salt solution in a hydrophilic colloid at a pCl of from 1.0 to 2.0 and at a temperature lower than 80.degree. C., said water-soluble silver salt solution being added in an amount of from 0.1 to 15% by weight of silver relative to the total silver,(b) stabilizing said silver halide nuclei to seed crystals for at least six minutes at a temperature lower than 80.degree. C. and at pCl of from 1.5 to 3.0 by Ostwald ripening, and(c) growing said seed crystals by double jet precipitation of silver and halide salt solutions at a constant chloride ions excess of from 30 to 70% mol and a temperature lower than 80.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5024928
Abstract: A silver halide multilayer color reversal photographic material having improved color reproducibility comprises, in a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, the combination of a monomethine cyanine spectral sensitizing dye and a thiazole quaternary salt having attached to a quaternary nitrogen atom thereof an alkenyl group having a double bond in the .beta.-position.

  • Patent number: 4822728
Abstract: A color image, wherein granularity is reduced under conditions allowing any sharpness loss to be kept under control, is obtained by image-wise exposing and developing in an alkaline water solution containing a color developer a silver halide color photographic element comprising a support base and at least a silver halide emulsion layer containing dispersed a non-diffusing hydrophobic coupler which upon reactiong with an oxidized developing agent forms a non-diffusing dye, characterized by the fact that said emulsion contains dispersed therein oil droplets, said droplets containing said non-diffusing coupler dissolved therein, and furthermore polymer particles in a quantity sufficient to obtain controlled smearing of the image-forming dye.

  • Patent number: 4477564
Abstract: Silver halide grains with high sensitivity are provided with iodobromide grains having at least 12% nominal iodide molar content, the grains including at least three different iodobromide phases having different iodide contents, the most external phase having an iodide content lower than the nominal iodide content.
