  • Patent number: 6452606
Abstract: Processes and apparatus for recording and reproducing computer pointer outputs are provided. The process comprises choosing one of the R/M or A/P modes, and when the pointer is in the R/M mode, identifying the beginning of the pointer output, registering subsequent pointer events, identifying the end of pointer output, and ceasing to register successive pointer events, and when the pointer is in the A/P mode, causing the events of selected pointer output to be repeated.

  • Patent number: 6449359
Abstract: Method for improving the calling procedures of telephones by creating customized messages for telephones coupled to a telephone exchange. The messages are registered on one or more sections of memory located in the telephone exchange and coupled to the telephone. The messages can be played over a boosted loudspeaker or the earphone of the telephone. When the telephone is switched on, but is not in communication with another telephone, the ring loudspeaker, if any, and the earphone loudspeaker are deactivated, and the boosted loudspeaker is activated. When a caller telephone receives a call from a caller telephone the activated boosted loudspeaker plays the chosen registered and optionally other messages. When the caller and the called telephone are hooked up, the boosted loudspeaker is deactivated, the earphone loudspeaker is activated and, thereby, placing the caller telephone in communication with said called telephone in the normal way.

  • Patent number: 6031521
Abstract: A method for operating a computer by means of a pointer comprises providing counters for memorizing coordinate displacements of the pointer index; choosing one of two modes, the REGISTER OR MEMORY (R/M) mode or the ACTIVE OR PLAY (A/P) mode; when in the R/M mode, moving the pointer index from a selected base point to a reference position corresponding to a computer operation, and memorizing the resulting pointer index displacements; and when the pointer in the A/P mode, bringing the pointer index to the base point, applying to it the memorized displacements, thus moving it from the base point to the reference position, and carrying out the operation corresponding to this latter. A computer apparatus comprises, in addition to the conventional elements of a pointer operated computer, counters for registering differential displacements and means for retrieving from the counters the registered differential displacements and applying them to a base position of the pointer.

  • Patent number: 4974483
Abstract: The invention relates to a programmable electronic metronome, capable of registering all meter and speed characteristics of any musical work and of producing, when the musical work is to be performed, substantially sharp, perceivable, e.g. acoustic, signals representing said characteristics in the appropriate succession. The metronome comprises a keyboard for producing signals associated with at least three variables, which are bar number, speed and meter, and defining digital values for said variables, which values are stored in at least one volatile electronic memory, comprising segments severally correlated to each of said variables, to define digital data sequences. The metronome further comprises a reader for the data sequences, whereby to associate to each bar number digital values of speed and meter, and a transducer for transforming said values into electric impulses, which produce a corresponding succession of perceivable signals.
