  • Publication number: 20230077841
Abstract: A metallurgical furnace cooling plate includes a cooling plate body with front and rear faces and at least one coolant channel inside the body, which communicates with a rear opening on the rear face; and a connection pipe connected to the body so that a pipe channel of the connection pipe communicates with the coolant channel, the connection pipe adapted for carrying coolant fluid to or from the channel. The body includes a receiving bore extending in a bore direction from the rear opening into the coolant channel, the channel being spaced in the bore direction from the rear face by a cover thickness of a cover portion and extends in the bore direction over a width. A connection pipe end portion extends into the receiving bore beyond the cover thickness and is form-fittingly received in the receiving bore along at least a portion of a width of the channel.

  • Publication number: 20220276004
Abstract: A cooling assembly for a metallurgical furnace includes a cooling plate disposed inside of a furnace shell of the metallurgical furnace; a cooling pipe traversing a shell opening in the furnace shell and being connected to the cooling plate; and a compensator disposed around the cooling pipe for forming a seal between the cooling pipe and the furnace shell. In order to provide ways for facilitating repair of a cooling system of the metallurgical furnace, the method includes at least the step of performing at least one cutting operation with a cutting device having a fixture and a cutting tool movably connected to the fixture for a guided movement with respect to the fixture. The fixture is mounted to the cooling pipe, whereby the cutting device is aligned with respect to the cooling pipe, and the cutting tool is guidedly moved while performing the cutting operation.

  • Patent number: 5938432
Abstract: A top closing device for shaft furnaces, particularly blast furnaces, including an inlet hopper with inlet pipe, a rotating, vertically non-adjustable chute carrier with rotary drive, a pivotable chute in the furnace interior with external drive means, and sealing members between the rotating and stationary components. The rotating chute carrier is mounted with a gear ring attached to a flange in a ball bearing slewing rim arranged on a catch basket. The rotary movement of the rotating chute carrier is effected outside of the furnace space by an electric motor drive with pinion. The catch basket is arranged on the furnace support ring of the gas seal hood. The pivoting or tilting movement of the chute relative to the furnace axis within the rotating chute carrier is effected by a hydraulic or electromechanical drive outside of the furnace space. An annular sealing member for sealing relative to the rotating chute carrier is mounted on the furnace support ring next to the flange of the catch basket.
