The tool body includes a conductor receiving opening for receiving a conductor portion therein and for holding the conductor portion received therein. Further, an edge of the plate-shaped tool body is shaped convex as a tapered blade edge extending substantially within a y-z-plane. The tapered blade edge is directed away from the conductor receiving opening and is forming an outer circumferential portion of the tool body for splitting a portion of insulating material during winding of the insulating material.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for subscriber and enterprise assignments and resource sharing are disclosed. A disclosed method includes managing resources for a communication service having a communication location. The disclosed method comprising associating a group identifier with a sub-group type, and associating a subscriber with the group identifier, wherein the sub-group type is used to determine at least one super-group usable to route an outdial call from the communication location if the outdial call is associated with the subscriber, and wherein the super-group comprises at least one of a circuit group or a voice over internet protocol communication path.

Abstract: A data messaging system includes a first Internet Protocol (IP) switch that includes a processor. The data messaging system also includes a first gateserver coupled to the first IP switch and coupled to a second IP switch. The data messaging system includes a second gateserver that is coupled to the first IP switch and to the second IP switch. The data messaging system further includes a first gatekeeper coupled to the first IP switch. The first gatekeeper is adapted to detect a failure of the first gateserver and to route data to the second gateserver in response to detecting the failure.

Abstract: A system that controls access to a communications network in accordance with a network service includes a service controller and a network connector. The service controller receives a request for the network service from an end system, provides the end system with a unique setup identifier and an enabling certificate, and instructs the end system to send a connection setup request to access the communications network, the connection setup request including the certificate and the unique setup identifier. The certificate includes information relating to a permitted setup and service policy or logic representing service capabilities or service permissions. The network connector receives the connection setup request from the end system, processes the connection setup request based on the certificate and the unique identifier, and establishes a network connection in accordance with at least the certificate.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for data structure driven authorization and routing of outdial communication services are disclosed. A disclosed method comprises obtaining a call criterion from a request to authorize an outdial communication service call, and retrieving an authorization result based on the call criterion by accessing a data structure that correlates a plurality of authorization results with a plurality of call criteria, wherein each of the plurality of authorization results is selectively modifiable.

Abstract: A method for handling multiple call redirections in a voice messaging platform is provided that includes receiving a call at the voice messaging platform, wherein multiple, sequential redirecting numbers are associated with the call. The method also includes selecting a mailbox associated with a last number associated with the call when it is determined that the last number does not belong to a closed user group, and depositing a message in the selected mailbox. When the last number belongs to the closed user group, and if the closed user group does not allow individual call forwarding control, the method selects the mailbox based on a closed user group preference. An apparatus and a computer readable medium are provided.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for migrating between terminals. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a network proxy having a controller that manages a communications interface in a communication system. The controller can be programmed to receive a request to migrate a first terminal to a third terminal while active communications are taking place on a first voice channel connecting the first terminal to a second terminal, establish a second voice channel with the third terminal, connect the first and second voice channels, and terminate without action of an end user of the first terminal a connection between the first terminal and the first voice channel.
