  • Patent number: 10625769
Abstract: A motor vehicle steering system is disclosed. The system includes a steering spindle consisting of spindle members which are non-rotatably connected to one another. One end of a spindle member has a spline shaft profile and is introduced into a sleeve-like intermediate piece which is arranged on the other spindle member and, on the inner periphery, has a negative-shaped spline shaft profile with respect to the spline shaft profile such that the spindle member is plug-connected to the intermediate piece. In order for the spindle members to be able to be connected to each other with minimal effort even in the event of visual inaccessibility, a circumferential guide contour pointing toward the intermediate piece is formed on the spindle member. The guide contour is upstream of the spline shaft profile toward the intermediate piece and is perforated by grooves of the spline shaft profile to form convex guide segments.

  • Patent number: 9592847
Abstract: A steering column arrangement has a sliding sleeve and a universal joint yoke, which has a receiving section in which the sliding sleeve is included at least in sections and coaxially. The covering outer surface of the sliding sleeve and the covering inner surface of the receiving section have molded components for the positive connection. A torsion damper element is arranged between the sliding sleeve and the receiving section of the universal joint yoke. This is an annular arrangement, including an inner carrier ring, an outer carrier ring and an elastomer ring arranged between them. The inner carrier ring and outer carrier ring are elastic in a radial direction and rigid in an axial direction.

  • Patent number: 9266554
Abstract: A motor vehicle steering column includes an inner jacket pipe that receives a steering spindle, which is received in a longitudinally adjustable manner in an outer jacket pipe held on a steering console and having a hollow cross-section. The steering column also includes a clamping device, by means of which the inner jacket pipe can be releasably secured in its adjusted longitudinal position relative to the outer jacket pipe. The outer jacket pipe has a recess at least over a longitudinal region, whereby its hollow cross-section can be altered by the clamping device.

  • Patent number: 9156489
Abstract: A sliding sleeve blank for producing a sliding sleeve for a steering spindle shaft of a motor vehicle steering spindle and the motor vehicle steering spindle assembly are provided. The sliding sleeve blank has a cylindrical form and has a section on one end, which has a collar, from which winged webs extending away radially extend in the direction of the second end. The sliding sleeve blank is a cold impact extrusion component, which, at the section has a preliminary toothing system extending over one part of the length of the section.

  • Publication number: 20130269468
Abstract: A height-adjustable safety steering column assembly includes a console installed securely on the vehicle and in which an outer jacket tube is pivotably mounted. The outer jacket tube comprising includes a steering spindle having a universal joint and an inner jacket tube, which surrounds a telescoping steering wheel-side section of the steering spindle. The pivotable connection of the outer jacket tube with the console installed securely on the vehicle is implemented by two riveted joints provided diametrically on a circumference of the jacket tube and which form a rotation axis corresponding to the universal joint axis of the steering spindle. For each of the connections formed by two rivets, the console installed securely on the vehicle has a passage leading into a passage of the outer jacket tube. A rivet closing head is seated on the jacket tube side.
