    Abstract: Systems and techniques for an autonomous selfie aerial camera system are described herein. In an example, an autonomous aerial camera device is adapted to receive an initiation to perform a capture sequence with a camera of the aerial camera device. The aerial camera device may be further adapted to control a motor coupled to a propeller to automatically cause the aerial camera device to fly to a specified distance and altitude away from a starting point. The aerial camera device may be further adapted to determine the aerial camera device is positioned at the specified distance and altitude, to then initiate the capture sequence, where the capture sequence includes capturing an image with the camera or capturing a video with the camera. The aerial camera device may be further adapted to receive images from the camera of a user and identify a gesture performed by the user.
