  • Publication number: 20180345979
Abstract: Examples of techniques for classifying roughness of a road are disclosed. In one example implementation, a method includes performing a first temporal analysis based at least in part on a speed of each of a plurality of wheels of a vehicle. The method further includes performing a second temporal analysis based at least in part on a combined wheel speed of the plurality of wheels. The method further includes performing a frequency analysis based at least in part on the speed of each of the plurality of wheels of the vehicle. The method further includes classifying the roughness of the road based at least in part on the first temporal analysis, the second temporal analysis, and the frequency analysis.

  • Patent number: 10086829
Abstract: A method is provided to control a power steering device and an adaptive damping system of a motor vehicle. The power steering device makes available a mechanical steering angle range that is limited by steering stops. The adaptive damping system makes available a variable damping force. The damping force of the adaptive damping system is increased and a maximum achievable steering angle is simultaneously increased in case a steering stop is reached.

  • Patent number: 9908380
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle having at least a first axle and at least a second axle, wherein the motor vehicle has a chassis that can be adjusted by the user, and which is operable at least in a first mode and at least in a second mode, which is more comfortable than the first mode. When the user activates the more comfortable second mode, a loading state of the motor vehicle is checked. The chassis is not shifted from the first mode into the second mode for at least axle, or is changed from the second mode into the first mode of the chassis if a limit load is exceeded.

  • Publication number: 20140180640
Abstract: The invention concerns a sensor arrangement having at least one condition parameter sensor, one sensor connection structure for the connection of the at least one condition parameter sensor to a structural construction element as well as with one of the signal processing devices which are coupled to the at least one condition parameter sensor, which includes a frequency elimination filter for an averaging of the signal of the at least one condition parameter sensor over the cycle duration of the first natural frequency of the sensor arrangement. This creates the possibility of creating a notch filter with a notch frequency, which corresponds to the first natural frequency of the acceleration sensor arrangement and exhibits a high filter quality. The notch frequency and the whole number multiples are thereby fully eliminated and disturbances due to the natural frequencies of the sensor arrangement are avoided.

  • Patent number: 8024965
Abstract: A method for analyzing tire vibration characteristics and an apparatus for carrying out the method, wherein the apparatus includes a stiff frame including a wheel support for supporting a wheel with a tire to be analyzed. A base part is flexibly connected with the frame by elastic means. The elastic means is embodied such that the frame is flexibly supported in one predefined functional direction. An actuator is provided for exciting vibrations into the wheel. The method and apparatus allow separate analysis of the natural vibrations in all four functional directions.
