  • Patent number: 11598240
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for estimation of a volume of liquid diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) contained within a DEF tank. In one example, a method for the estimation of the volume of liquid DEF in a DEF tank during DEF freezing conditions may include activating a heater contained within the DEF tank, and then switching estimation of the volume of liquid DEF via a first transfer function to estimation of the volume of liquid DEF via a second transfer function.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 1, 2021
Date of Patent: March 7, 2023
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Thaddeus A Chmielewski, Gurpreet Matharu, Marcus Bengtsson, Carlos Armesto, Bret Alan Zimmerman, Jim Bromham

  • Patent number: 11068251
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for distributing software upgrade in a communication network (30). The communication network comprises a plurality of nodes (N1-N5) and each node is configured to execute a node specific version of software and is configured to communicate with one or more neighbouring nodes.

    Assignee: LumenRadio AB
Inventors: Michael Karlsson, Lars Fabian Paape, Marcus Bengtsson
  • Patent number: 10251094
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for selecting communication parameters in a wireless network comprising a plurality of nodes configured to wirelessly communicate with each other over a plurality of communication channels The method comprises: establishing 43 a channel quality index for each node in the wireless network, arranging 42 the plurality of nodes into one master node configured to select communication parameters in the network and at least one sub-node, configuring the wireless network in a tree structure, calculating 44 in each node a modified channel quality index based on the channel quality index established in the node, and an accumulated channel quality index based on the channel quality index established in the child nodes, transmitting 46 the modified channel quality index to the parent node, and selecting and communicating 49 updated communication parameters based on the modified channel quality index calculated in the master node.

  • Patent number: 9208680
Abstract: A system and method for identification of a particular one device from an array of networked devices. Each of the devices are individually addressable by a controller on the network, and a technician preferably identifies a particular one device by use of a handheld remote control. Pointing one of transmitter/receiver pair at a device including the complementary component allows remote disambiguation based upon ranging and signal strength, particularly when using a pair of orthogonal antennas to discriminate and confirm which particular device is being pointed to by the remote. Optional confirmation helps improve identification robustness, and then the properly identified device may be configured/commissioned.
