    Abstract: A computer system and method for determining subterranean rock composition is described in which user input data is received having a plurality of parameters defining a desired subterranean rock composition from a wellbore. Data associated with at least one geologic environment is received, which data contains data acquired from at least one wellbore. An analytical analysis is then conducted by a computer processor utilizing the user input data and the received geologic environment data to determine a match between the user desired subterranean rock composition and the received geologic environment data. Output graphic data is then determined and generated, based at least in part on the analytical analysis, on a computer graphical display consisting of a two-dimensional (2D) graphical representation indicating a region of the geologic environment having a match between the user desired subterranean rock composition and the received geologic environment data.

    Abstract: This disclosure presents methods and systems to perform fairway analysis on a computing system to automate tasks. The automation of the fairway analysis can reduce bias and uncertainty introduced by a user using their own set of assumptions, estimations, and preferred sequencing of rules and algorithms. The described processes can receive initial input parameters describing the area of interest (AOI) and a geological age range. The processes can retrieve appropriate geological and stratigraphic parameters using the initial input parameters. The combined input parameters can then be geoprocessed using age-aware rules and a determined sequence of algorithms and rules to generate synthesized geological data that can be upscaled and transformed into one or more chance maps indicating the presence and effectiveness of various hydrocarbon elements. The chance maps can be amalgamated and processed to produce a prospective map indicating the likelihood of success of further exploration of the specified AOI.
