  • Patent number: 11258211
Abstract: There is described a method of establishing an electrical connection through a flexible planar material. The method involves attaching an intermediate coupling element to the flexible planar material so as to align an aperture defined by the intermediate coupling element with a hole through the flexible planar material, and coupling an electrical connector to the intermediate coupling element so as to permit electrical connection through the flexible planar material. In this way, the intermediate coupling element can be attached to the garment during the garment manufacture process, and subsequently the electrical connector can be coupled to the intermediate coupling element separately from the main garment manufacture.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 21, 2020
Date of Patent: February 22, 2022
    Assignee: AB CONNECTORS LTD.

  • Patent number: 10177491
Abstract: There is described a connector assembly having a first connector part and a second connector part. At least one of the first connector part and the second connector part comprises at least one magnet for providing an attractive force between the first connector part and the second connector part to align the first connector part and the second connector part in a connected state. The first connector part comprises a guide track and the second connector part comprises a follower, the guide track being shaped to guide movement of the follower, under the influence of said attractive force, to a retaining position in which the follower engages an abutment surface on the first connector part to provide a retaining mechanism for retaining the first connector part and the second connector part in the connected state.

  • Publication number: 20120208390
Abstract: There is a discussed a connector assembly having a plug member, a sleeve member slidably mounted around the plug member, and a receptacle member. One end of the sleeve member is connectable and disconnectable to the receptacle member by virtue of either a first flexing movement or a second flexing movement in dependence upon the position of the sleeve member relative to the receptacle member, hi this way, different decoupling forces are required to separate the connector assembly in dependence on the relative position of the sleeve member and the plug member.

  • Publication number: 20070204599
Abstract: A control strategy for a DISI engine fitted with a catalytic converter, for reducing the light off time of the catalyst during cold starts, which comprises setting the ignition timing for each engine cylinder and injecting at least a proportion of the fuel, the timing of the injection in relation to the ignition timing being varied as a function of an engine operating condition.

  • Patent number: 7246609
Abstract: A multi-cylinder internal combustion engine having an exhaust system with an exhaust emission after-treatment device for exhaust gases from the cylinders, an air supply system for supplying fresh air to the cylinders, a fuel supply system for supplying fuel to each cylinder, and a controller to cut off the fuel supply and disable at least one cylinder, and preferably two cylinders in opposing pairs. A valve assembly is located between the cylinders to be disabled and the emission after-treatment device and is operable to divert gases from said the disabled cylinders via a recirculation conduit back to the air supply system.

  • Publication number: 20060242947
Abstract: An emission control system for an engine is disclosed in which an exhaust gas cooler is positioned upstream from a hydrocarbon trap in order to prevent premature desorbtion of hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon trap. A bypass passage is also provided to allow the exhaust gas cooler to be bypassed to speed up the activation of a lean NOx trap positioned downstream from the hydrocarbon trap prior to hydrocarbon release.
