  • Publication number: 20200298172
Abstract: Processes for removing a sulfide or a degradation product thereof from in a gas dehydration system are disclosed along with corresponding gas dehydration systems. The processes and systems include contacting a stream comprising the sulfide or a degradation product thereof with an anionic resin to remove at least a portion of the sulfide or a degradation product thereof from the stream. The processes and systems can also be used in the removal of mercury from gas dehydration systems.

  • Patent number: 8540871
Abstract: A denitrification method is disclosed for removing nitrogen compounds from a hydrocarbon feed in which the feed is contacted with an adsorbent including an organic heterocyclic salt deposited on a porous support. Additionally, a method for hydrotreating a hydrocarbon feed which includes a hydroprocessing step is disclosed, wherein prior to hydroprocessing, the feed is contacted with an adsorbent including an organic heterocyclic salt deposited on a support. Additionally, a method for producing a lube oil which includes isomerization dewaxing of a base oil fraction is disclosed, wherein prior to the isomerization dewaxing step, the base oil fraction is contacted with an adsorbent including an organic heterocyclic salt deposited on a support.

  • Patent number: 8448926
Abstract: Provided is a method for contacting a gas with a liquid in a rotating packed bed. The method comprises providing a rotating packed bed comprising two sets of rotatable packing rings disposed within a chamber and defining an interior region. The rotating packed bed also comprises at least one liquid distributor with an inlet for accepting a liquid, the inlet in communication with an exit port for infusing the liquid into the interior region. The liquid distributor also comprises at least one gas outlet for accepting gas which has passed through the packed bed and for removing the gas from the interior region. The two sets of rotatable packing rings are caused to rotate. Liquid is infused into the interior region by way of the liquid inlet, and gas is injected through at least one gas inlet into the interior region, with the liquid and gas passing through each of the packing rings in countercurrent flow.

  • Publication number: 20100294698
Abstract: Methods for producing a substantially desulfurized hydrocarbon fuel stream, using no substantial amount of hydrogen, at pressures less than 125 psig are described. The process uses two fixed beds in series to remove sulfur and/or other heteroatoms to produce a substantially desulfurized (less than 1 ppm sulfur) hydrocarbon fuel stream. The first fixed bed uses a transition metal catalyst dispersed on an inorganic oxide matrix and the second bed uses a high surface area, porous, amorphous inorganic oxide catalyst or a high surface area porous carbonaceous catalyst. The second fixed bed can additionally comprise one or more metals.
