  • Publication number: 20250115100
Abstract: A system for actuating closures of a vehicle includes drive units and latches. The drive units may couple to one of the closures and may be used to control movement of the closure relative to another closure. Using the latches, the closures may be coupled together and the same drive units can be used to control movement of both closures together. The controlled movement of the closures may be automated by using a controller and one or more motors.

  • Publication number: 20240291202
Abstract: A charging port for an electric vehicle includes a charging socket, a push rod actuator, and a push rod coupled to the push rod actuator. The charging socket is configured to receive a charging connector of a charger (e.g., a charging station, a wall charger, a portable charger, etc.). The push rod is configured to decouple the charging connector from the charging socket when the push rod is displaced from a retracted position to an extended position by the push rod actuator.

  • Patent number: 8919853
Abstract: A deployable step and handle system for a tailgate. The handle is used to secure the deployable step in the stowed position that eliminates the need for a separate release system. The handle is placed adjacent a top edge of the tailgate to prevent debris from being trapped under the handle when the handle is closed. The ladder has a step surface disposed opposite and at an angle relative to a top surface of a spoiler that provides a step surface. The ladder rails are guided by rail guides as the ladder is moved between a stowed position and a deployed position. A unitary support bracket is used to connect both the handle and a ladder rail to the tailgate.

  • Patent number: 7926385
Abstract: A vehicle passive entry side door latch release system engageable with a release cable connected a door latch includes a moveable linkage assembly engageable with the cable, and a motor including an output shaft engaged with a tensioning gear for driving a ratcheting gearwheel rotatably affixed to a coil spring, with the gearwheel including external teeth engageable with a rack affixed to the linkage to move the cable to unlatch the door latch. A pivotable ratcheting pawl may be engageable with the gearwheel to allow or prevent rotation of the gearwheel. Operation of the motor may drive the gear to drive the gearwheel in a rotary direction to energize the spring, and disengagement of the pawl from the gearwheel may allow stored energy in the spring to drive the gearwheel in an opposite rotary direction to thereby drive the rack to move the cable to unlatch the door latch.
