  • Patent number: 12039081
Abstract: A method and arrangement for providing data from an industrial automation arrangement to an external application operated in a data cloud and arranged outside a first data network, where an industrial Edge device processes raw data from the data source and makes the processed data available to the external application, the external application transmits a work order to the gateway component, the work order is checked by the gateway component, the raw data are captured and processed according to the work order, and the processed, abstracted and/or anonymized data are provided to the external application or a destination defined in the work order, such that an external user can automatically control access and hence use the data without accessing the underlying raw data because the level of data access is automatically negotiated and produced between the components involved (data source, gateway component) while taking into account requirements and rules.

  • Patent number: 9891688
Abstract: A method for operating at least two data processing units with high availability, in particular in a vehicle, is provided. A first data processing unit and a second data processing unit can each provide the same function to an extent of at least 60 percent or at least 90 percent. The second data processing unit removes automatically at least one entry for a process to be executed from a memory unit or automatically places itself into a standby mode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 10, 2012
Date of Patent: February 13, 2018
    Assignee: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT
Inventors: Michael Armbruster, Marcus Fehling, Ludger Fiege, Gunter Freitag, Cornel Klein
  • Patent number: 9254841
Abstract: A method includes determining failure of a drive energy store of a vehicle and activating generator operation of a electric main engine as a result of the failure. The method includes determining a current driving condition of the vehicle, what actuators are necessary in order to put the vehicle into a safe operating condition, and what each of the necessary actuator dynamics are based on the current driving condition of the vehicle. The method includes determining a demand for electrical energy that is necessary for a particular necessary actuator to attain the safe operating condition, and regulating a proportionate generator operation of the electric main engine, taking into consideration electrical energy of the necessary actuators required for carrying out each of the necessary actuator dynamics. The method includes activating the actuators necessary for achieving the safe operating condition with the determined actuator dynamics until the safe operating condition is achieved.
