    Abstract: The present invention relates to mechanisms for sharing media items connected to an event between user accounts. An event for media items is created where the event is associated with a context. The created event is associated with a user account. The created event is shared with at least one further user account. The user account and the at least one further user account are associated with a specified subset of user accounts from at least one group of user accounts. Captured media items are connected to the created event. The captured media items are associated with the user account or the at least one further user account. The user account and the at least one further user are provided access to the connected media items. The connected media items are thereby enabled to be shared amongst the user account and the at least one further user account.
