Publication number: 20100302362Abstract: A method for detecting if a vehicle has exceeded a speed limit captures a vehicle feature characterizing a vehicle entering a monitoring section at a first time. A first coding value to be assigned to the vehicle feature is determined by one-way encryption. The vehicle feature of a vehicle leaving the monitoring section is captured at a second time. A second coding value to be assigned to the vehicle feature captured at the second point in time is determined by the one-way encryption. The first and second coding values are compared and if they match, the average speed of the vehicle is determined using the time required to travel through the monitoring section. The average speed is compared to a predefined maximum speed and the vehicle feature is only stored if the average speed exceeds the maximum speed. A corresponding device for carrying out the method is also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2008Publication date: December 2, 2010Applicant: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventors: Josef Alois Birchbauer, Jurgen Hatzl, Marcus Hennecke

Patent number: 7555533Abstract: A system is disclosed for receiving information via a mobile communication device including receiving a dialog script by the mobile communication device for performing a dialog between the mobile communication device and a user. The system runs the dialog script on the mobile communication device to perform a dialog between the mobile communication device and the user. The system also may include a server to provide a dialog script to the mobile communication device, for performing a dialog between the mobile communication device and a user.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2004Date of Patent: June 30, 2009Assignee: Harman Becker Automotive Systems GmbHInventor: Marcus Hennecke

Publication number: 20090125311Abstract: A vehicular voice control system includes a first and a second microphone located on a vehicle external to a vehicle cabin. The microphones receive audio signals from an audio source external to the vehicle and generate microphone output signals. A signal processor processes the microphone output signals, generates a processed signal, and determines a location of the audio source. A speech recognition system receives the processed signal and obtains a recognition result. A controller controls one or more vehicular elements based on the recognition result and the determined location of the audio source.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 2, 2007Publication date: May 14, 2009Inventors: Tim Haulick, Markus Buck, Marcus Hennecke

Publication number: 20080249779Abstract: A speech dialog system includes a signal input unit that receives an acoustic input signal. A voice activity detector compares a portion of the received signal to a noise estimate to determine if the signal includes voice activity. A speech recognizer processes signals containing voice activity to determine if the signal contains speech. An output unit modifies signals when output of the system substantially coincides with the delivered speech.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2007Publication date: October 9, 2008Inventor: Marcus Hennecke

Patent number: 7392189Abstract: A speech recognition system for processing voice inputs from a user to select a list element from a list or group of list elements. Recognition procedures are carried out on the voice input of the user. One recognition procedure separates the voice input of a whole word into at least one sequence of speech subunits to produce a vocabulary of list elements. Another recognition procedure compares the voice input of the whole word with the vocabulary of list elements.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2003Date of Patent: June 24, 2008Assignee: Harman Becker Automotive Systems GmbHInventors: Marcus Hennecke, Walter Koch, Gerhard Nüβle, Richard Reng

Publication number: 20080091426Abstract: A system improves speech recognition includes an interface linked to a speech recognition engine. A post-recognition processor coupled to the interface compares recognized speech data generated by the speech recognition engine to contextual information retained in a memory, generates a modified recognized speech data, and transmits the modified recognized speech data to a parsing component.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2007Publication date: April 17, 2008Inventors: Rod Rempel, Phillip A. Hetherington, Marcus Hennecke, Daniel Willett

Publication number: 20070198268Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for controlling a speech dialog system, wherein an acoustic output signal is provided in response to an acoustic input signal, comprising the steps of receiving a further acoustic input signal, processing the further acoustic input signal by a voice activity detector, processing the further acoustic input signal or an output signal corresponding to the further acoustic input signal provided by the voice activity detector by a speech recognition unit to detect speech, if voice activity was detected by the voice activity detector, modifying the acoustic output signal if speech was detected by the speech recognition unit during the output of the output signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2004Publication date: August 23, 2007Inventor: Marcus Hennecke

Publication number: 20070136060Abstract: A system recognizes speech using lexical lists. The lexical list may have entries that correspond to words or commands. The system includes an interface for receiving voiced speech and a recognition unit that generates string hypotheses based on the voiced speech. The recognition unit assigns a score to each of the string hypotheses. One of the string hypotheses is compared with an entry in the lexical list by a comparison unit. An assignment unit may then assign one of the string hypotheses to an entry in the lexical list.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2006Publication date: June 14, 2007Inventors: Marcus Hennecke, Volker Schless
