    Abstract: A box connector for cable comprises an annular connector in which one or more inwardly extending arms are formed. The inwardly extending arms are formed such that cable may be inserted in one direction, but cannot be pulled out in the other direction until the inwardly extending arms are released. In use, the box connector is inserted into an electrical box prior to inserting cable. Thereafter, cable is threaded into the electrical box. Once the cable is threaded into the electrical box, the cable is fixedly held via the inwardly extending arms.

A rear face of the removable mud cover, which faces a front opening of the electrical device mounting box when the removable mud cover is in a closed position, may include a cavity configured to receive a face of an electrical device mounted in the electrical device mounting box when the removable mud cover is in a closed position. The removable mud cover may include a narrow imprinter configured to imprint drywall when drywall is pressed against the narrow imprinter.

The buttons may be squeeze tabs and the cover may be a split cover or include a spring element that automatically returns the cover to a closed position from an open position when an electrical plug is removed from the receptacle.

Coupled to a top wall is a track that is configured to interface with a wall mount feature (such as a nail boss) in such a manner that the wall mount features can slide within the track. In such a manner, the wall mount features can be placed in a forward position for storage or transportation, and in a rearward position when installed in a wall. The forward position of the wall mounting feature allows electrical boxes to be nested within each other, raising the shipping density of electrical boxes that can be stored.

One or more guides resist decoupling of the extendable base and the electrical outlet mounting box. A lid is pivotably coupled with the extendable base, and one of the lid and the extendable base has a cord port along their respective edges. The lid has a front surface and is positionable between open and closed positions. The lid's front surface is substantially flush with the front surface of the wall when the base is collapsed and the lid is closed with respect to the extendable cover.

    Abstract: An electrical box includes a back portion including a back wall and various side walls. Coupled to the back portion is an sliding ring portion including various side walls. The sliding ring portion is slidably mounted on the back portion such that there is an extended position with a first depth and a collapsed position with a second depth where the first depth is greater than the second depth. Prior to installation, the electrical box would be in the collapsed position in order to minimize the space occupied by the electrical box. When installed, the electrical box would be used in the extended position, such that the full depth of the electrical box can be used.
