    Abstract: A charging station for charging a battery of an electric vehicle including: a main body having a base portion positioned in a substructure and a charging portion, the charging portion includes an electrical outlet for connection to the electric vehicle; lifting means for moving the charging portion between a first position in which the charging portion is located in the base portion and a second position in which the charging portion is in a raised location out of the base portion and above the substructure; a lifting controller to activate the lifting means to move the charging portion between the first position and second position. The charging station is operable to charge the vehicle when the charging portion is in the first position within the base portion.
