  • Publication number: 20080049697
Abstract: A method and a radio communication system transmit user information as a service to several user stations in a radio communication system comprising at least one base station and user stations which are connected to each other via a radio communication interface. The base station signals to the user stations using the at least one service via a group control channel, radio resource information on at least one traffic channel via which the user information of the at least one service is transmitted to the user stations.

  • Patent number: 7324477
Abstract: A method is provided for use in a radio communications system according to which a channel which can be mutually used by a number of subscriber stations, consists of at least two channels that can be allocated to a number of parallelly existing connections for temporally successive use. The channels are structured according to a sequence known to the subscriber stations. A number of channels or a data rate is assigned to a subscriber station by using a subscriber individual signaling message. In addition, a starting point and/or a direction in the sequence is signaled to the subscriber station order to select the channels.

Date of Patent: January 29, 2008
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Axel Meiling, Marcus Purat
  • Patent number: 7053829
Abstract: A method determines the position of a mobile object by using at least one radio signal having a rotating transmission characteristic with at least one reference station. The relation between the orientation of the transmission characteristic and reference events is communicated to the mobile object. The orientation of the transmission characteristic and the relative position with respect to the reference station can be determined from the reference event.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20050035906
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining the position of a mobile object by using at least one radio signal having a rotating transmission characteristic with at least one reference station. The relation between the orientation of the transmission characteristic and reference events is communicated to the mobile object. The orientation of the transmission characteristic and the relative position with respect to the reference station can be determined from the reference event.

  • Publication number: 20030117995
Abstract: During the determination of the timing advance (TA), the data is transmitted from the first station (MS) without the timing advance in the form of short radio blocks (B1). After determining the timing advance (TA), the data (D), while taking the timing advance into account, is transmitted from the first station (MS) in the form of long radio blocks (B2) which are longer than the short radio blocks (B1). Both the short radio blocks (B1) as well as the long radio blocks (B2) are transmitted from the first station (MS) in the same channel allocated to the connection.
