  • Patent number: 8242253
Abstract: The present invention relates to an isolated ?-actin nucleic acid promoter molecule from shrimp; nucleic acid constructs including the ?-actin promoter molecule; and expression vectors, host cells, and transgenic animals transduced with the isolated ?-actin nucleic acid promoter. Also disclosed are methods for imparting to an animal resistance against a pathogen, regulating growth of an animal, increasing stress tolerance in an animal, and increasing cold tolerance in an animal that involves transforming an animal with a nucleic acid construct including the isolated ?-actin nucleic acid promoter molecule of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 8125355
Abstract: The invention relates to a mobile communication device, with a casing and a keypad comprising a plurality of keys and a plurality of rotatable key elements comprising a protrusion. Each key element is adapted to depress a first key in a first direction, when rotated in a first rotating direction, and depress a second key in said first direction, when rotated in a second rotating direction. Each key element is adapted to be rotated in said first rotating direction upon application of a force onto the protrusion in a second direction. Each key element is adapted to be rotated in said second rotating direction upon application of a force onto the protrusion in a third direction. The second and third direction is opposite to each other, and the first direction is perpendicular to said second and said third direction.

  • Publication number: 20090264152
Abstract: A portable electronic device (1) comprising a first portion (3, 53) including at least one output device (2) for rendering output data and a second portion (4, 54) comprising at least two input devices (10, 11, 20, 30, 40) for manually inputting data into the portable electronic device. The second portion is rotatably connected to the first portion. The output device is directed in the same direction as a first input device when the second portion is positioned in a first position, and in the same direction as another input device when the second portion is positioned in a second position.

  • Publication number: 20060018102
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a portable electronic device that includes a first part and a second part. The first part includes electrical circuits and has an exterior side, an interior side, and a bottom side. The second part includes electrical circuits and has an exterior side, and interior side and a bottom side. At least one hinge connects the bottom sides of the first and second parts to each other and allows rotation of one part in relation to the other. At least one first set of flexible electrical conductors are connected to the first part on the exterior side adjacent the bottom side thereof and connected to the second part on the interior side adjacent the bottom side thereof. The first part may be a camera having a lens on the interior side thereof, and the second part may be a display provided on the interior side thereof.
