  • Patent number: 7882773
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a roll of material includes an elongated blade having a distal end, a cutting guide attached to the elongated blade and positioned to direct the distal end of the elongated blade towards the roll of material, and a support position to hold the roll of material approximate to the elongated blade. A method for cutting a roll of material having an axis and a circumference is taught. The method comprises radially cutting the roll of material from the circumference to the axis by advancing the distal end of an elongated blade, then rotating the elongated blade relative the axis to cut the roll of material. Alternately, the method teaches rotating the roll of material relative to the axis to cut the roll of material.

  • Patent number: 6282766
Abstract: The present invention discloses a roll cutter. The roll cutter has a housing. To the housing, there is attached a base, a cutter assembly, and an optional hoist assembly. The hoist assembly is a telescoping tower that allows the user to engage a roll using a hoist. The hoist can then pick up the roll and move it onto the stand. Once on the stand, the cutting assembly having a cutting tower, a cutting arm, and a saw can be placed at the desired level of cut. A saw can then be used to cut away the roll until it is the desired width. A sanding blade can be used to sand the edge of the roll.

  • Patent number: 6247262
Abstract: A fishing apparatus includes a buoyant collapsible pole assembly which has first and second elongated buoyant poles connected by a pivotal connection. The pivotal connection allows the first and second poles to pivot between an extended position wherein the poles extend in opposite directions from the pivotal connection, and a folded position wherein the poles extend in the same direction from the pivotal connection. A plurality of line storage and dispensing stations are attached to the pole assembly at spaced locations along the pole assembly.

  • Patent number: 5410929
Abstract: The present invention discloses a device for recycling a tube such as a core having housing which has an upper side, a lower side, and a first side. Attached to the upper side is an input chute. The input chute receives the core. The bottom end of the core is fed into a traveling horizontal blade as well as a splitter blade. The travelling horizontal blade makes a horizontal cut proximate to the lower end of the core whereas the splitter blade makes a cut proximate to the lower or distal end of the core in a vertical direction. The same piston that pushes the splitter blade and traveling blade into the core then pushes the core into a stationary blade which makes another horizontal cut and separates a piece from the core which then drops into a storage area. The same piston which pushes the splitter blade and traveling blade can then push the pieces in the storage area toward a discharge chute.

  • Patent number: 5272801
Abstract: The present invention discloses a device for removing a cap from a fiber core. The device has a housing which resides on a base. The housing includes a receiving member which is defined by a front opening, a rear opening distally located from the front opening, an top wall and an bottom wall joining the front opening and rear openings, a right wall and a left wall joining said front opening to said rear opening and joining said top wall to the bottom wall. The present device is to be used in connection with a cap and core having a key-way. In one embodiment, a key is pivotally attached to the receiving member. In this embodiment, the key is then flipped down to engage the key-way of the core. The receiving member receives the core and the cap. A blade extends through the receiving member proximate to the front opening. The blade extends into and through a portion of the cap close to the fiber core. In the manual machine, the cut cap is then rotated until the key-way is facing upwardly.
