    Abstract: A side wall for a rail vehicle of differential structure, configured for fastening the lower end to a base frame and the upper end to a roof, includes a grid structure of bows and frames, and paneling of said grid structure, wherein the paneling is produced in one piece and has a vertical first section and a second section arranged at the upper end of the side wall and angled or bent with respect to the first section, and a cover plate which is oriented substantially perpendicularly in the installed position of the side wall and connected to the paneling at the upper end of the second section, and a plurality of ribs distributed along the longitudinal extent of the side wall and welded in within the intermediate space between the upper section of the paneling and the cover plate.
