    Abstract: In a method for forming a structural component of an aircraft or spacecraft a preform comprising at least one band is formed by means of braiding around a core. A severing cut is introduced at least in portions into the at least one band of the preform to form two band portions of the at least one band. The two formed band portions of the at least one band are then deformed into a predetermined shape by means of a deformation tool which can be guided along the severing cut. A deformation device is used to carry out the method. A structural component is produced by means of the method and/or the deformation device.
