    Abstract: A method for de-imaging a permanent image on a surface of a rewritable printing forme includes driving the printing forme in rotation about its longitudinal central axis during erasure. The image is ground off the surface of the rewritable printing forme by a rotating grinding device set against the surface of the printing forme being driven in rotation. Polymer removed during grinding at the surface is extracted from the surface of the printing forme.
