The request may be received in association with a merchant virtual storefront transaction request. The payment authorization device also retrieves identifying information associated with the merchant virtual storefront. Additionally, the payment authorization device may retrieve, from a database located in a non-transitory memory, baseline identifying information for comparison to the retrieved identifying information. The payment authorization device determines an authenticity of the merchant virtual storefront based on the retrieved identifying information and subsequently authorizes the merchant virtual storefront transaction request.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing medications of a patient are described. A dispenser device having compartments for holding medications and containing a patient profile is provided. The dispenser device is delivered to a pharmacist, who can fill the dispenser device and bill a patient based on the patient profile. The pharmacist can access medical records and other information, such as insurance and payment information, that is needed to fill the prescription, by reading the patient profile. In various embodiments, the dispenser device includes a security component to control that accesses the dispenser device.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for assessing a technical community. A plurality of characteristics that each describe an aspect of the technical community may be retrieved. An interface that displays the plurality of characteristics as queries to be answered by a member of the technical community may be generated. An input for each characteristic may be received, wherein each input comprises a quantitative input that provides a qualitative opinion of the member of the technical community for a corresponding characteristic. A score based on at least one input may be generated. The score may provide the assessment of the technical community.

The learning system further comprises means for playing on demand and broadcasting said desired voice statements to said auditory learner; means for creating an auditory live session for said learner; and means for mining said voice statements for emerging subject matter and to create new voice statements for playing on demand to said learner. The preferred embodiment of the invention is a new deployment vehicle for informal learning cultivated within a Community of Practice and broadcast over IP.

A method may include detecting a device affiliated with a member of the community, when the device is within a specified proximity to a user; and notifying the user of the detection of the member within the specified proximity. In one embodiment, a system for applying the method is disclosed. In one application, a location awareness enhancement (e.g., community locating) program is also disclosed.

Abstract: Under the present invention, a user with an existing profile page who desires to have a social network built will first submit a subscription request. If approved, an existing contact list such as a chat list or the like for the user will be compared to existing contact lists for other subscribing users to establish commonalities. Based on such commonalities, a configurable social network of contacts is built. Using a graphical representation of the social network, the user can (among other things) provide or read testimonials about the contacts therein; access the profile pages for the contacts; provide or read “ratings” for the contacts; be provided with levels/degrees of separation between the contacts; validate trusts and business relationships, etc.

Abstract: Under the present invention, a design repository having modules that each include a framework for developing educational content is provided. Also provided is a content repository that has modules that correspond to the modules of the design repository. An educational program is designed by selecting one or more modules of the design repository based on an assessment of a set of requirements. Using the framework in the selected modules educational content for the educational program can be developed. Moreover, by accessing the modules of the content repository that correspond to the selected modules of the design repository, previously created educational content can be retrieved. Once provided (e.g., developed or retrieved), the educational content will be delivered to one or more intended recipients according to the designed educational program.
