Abstract: Systems and methods for opening the eustachian tubes of a subject are provided. Aspects of the systems include: a swallow inducer; a nasal passage seal; a pressure source configured to apply positive pressure to a sealed nasal passage; a sensor configured to detect a parameter indicative of a swallow resultant palate closure; and a controller operably coupled to the pressure source and the sensor, wherein the controller is configured to cause the pressure source to apply positive pressure to a sealed nasal passage upon detection by the sensor of the parameter indicative of a swallow resultant palate closure. Also provide are methods of using the systems to open eustachian tubes. The systems and methods find use in a variety of different applications, e.g., the treatment of a subject for Otitis Media with Effusion (OME).

The container has a hollow housing with an upper aperture, and a portion of the housing can open and reveal the hollow interior. There is an upper part, located substantially above the housing to act as a lid, and this can move to open and close the upper aperture. There is an endless cassette non-rotationally mounted at or near the upper aperture, which holds a length of shirred plastics tubing which exits the cassette at or near its top and which can flow down through a central aperture of the endless cassette toward a bottom of the housing to form a containment. The containment can then receive waste from the upper aperture when open by the lid. The containment can be accessed by the portion when open, and the containment can be drawn downwardly to form a new containment replenished from the cassette and sealed closed by the sealer unit, and allows removal of the containment.

Abstract: A cup holder assembly for a child seat movable between a retracted position and an extracted position includes an inner cup holder bracket, a medial cup holder slide movably attached to the cup holder bracket, and an outer cup holder floor pivotally attached to the cup holder slide. The cup holder slide and the cup holder floor move along an arc relative to the cup holder bracket, and the cup holder floor rotates relative to the cup holder slide and the cup holder bracket. The cup holder bracket has a rail guide and the cup holder slide includes a corresponding rail operable for slidingly engaging the rail guide. The cup holder slide further includes a lip that engages a corresponding ledge on the cup holder floor to rotate the cup holder floor as the cup holder slide is moved from the retracted position to the extracted position.
