  • Publication number: 20070234532
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing compressed, gas-stabilized tampons are disclosed. The gas-stabilized tampons include tampons having preferably multiple folds for improved leakage protection and comfort through improved expansion characteristics. The number of folds can vary from 3 to 20 and greater. The process includes the step of forcing a gas through the compressed tampon. The gas can include steam.

  • Publication number: 20060129120
Abstract: An improved absorbent catamenial tampon is disclosed comprising an overwrap with both a masking region and a wicking region. The compressed absorbent member of the tampon has an inner region, an exterior surface, and an insertion end opposed to a withdrawal end. The overwrap comprises a masking region and a wicking region. The wicking region of the overwrap covers at least a portion of the exterior surface of the compressed absorbent member proximal to the withdrawal end of the compressed absorbent member. The masking region surrounds at least a portion of the exterior surface of the compressed absorbent member proximal to the insertion end of the compressed absorbent member.

  • Publication number: 20060025736
Abstract: A disposable absorbent article having a backsheet, a topsheet and an absorbent element. The topsheet, backsheet, and the absorbent element has an imparted color in which at least two elements of the imparted colors for the aforementioned elements have an L* value of greater than about 60 and a C* value of greater than about 6.

  • Publication number: 20060025743
Abstract: A tampon having an absorbent member. Optionally, the tampon can have an overwrap and/or a skirt portion. Color matching exists when the colors are contained within a specified CIELab color space volume, have a specified hue difference, or have a total color difference.

  • Publication number: 20060025735
Abstract: A disposable absorbent article having a backsheet, a topsheet and an absorbent element. The topsheet, backsheet, and the absorbent element has an imparted color in which each of the imparted colors for the aforementioned elements are color matched. Color matching exists when the colors are contained within a specified CIELab color space volume, have a specified hue difference, or have a total color difference.

  • Publication number: 20050097828
Abstract: A disposable roof covering comprising a plastic substrate having a porous top surface, and a superabsorbent polymer located between the top surface and bottom surface of the substrate. The polymer absorbs water contacting the roof covering and allows it to evaporate over time to cool the roof structure and interior of the building. The invention provides a lightweight, low cost roof covering for cooling buildings. A method for cooling a roof structure by applying the disposable roof covering over the roof structure is also provided.
