In addition, the insertion member can have an indentation region extending inwardly from the outer surface and disposed between the barrel region and withdrawal end, and a shoulder region disposed between the barrel region and the indentation region. In certain embodiments, the indentation region can include one or more gripping formations protruding from the indentation region, the one or more gripping formations extending from the indentation region over at least a portion of the shoulder region.

The tampon can comprise a substantially symmetrical absorbent mass having an insertion end and a withdrawal end, wherein the insertion end is asymmetric around an X axis of the tampon. A method of improving placement of a tampon in a vagina of a female is also provided.

Abstract: A disposable roof covering comprising a plastic substrate having a porous top surface, and a superabsorbent polymer located between the top surface and bottom surface of the substrate. The polymer absorbs water contacting the roof covering and allows it to evaporate over time to cool the roof structure and interior of the building. The invention provides a lightweight, low cost roof covering for cooling buildings. A method for cooling a roof structure by applying the disposable roof covering over the roof structure is also provided.

Abstract: A catamenial tampon comprises a compressed absorbent member having an inner region and an exterior surface, the compressed absorbent member comprising an absorbent material. An overwrap substantially covers the exterior surface of the compressed absorbent member. The overwrap comprises an apertured fluid pervious material that is hydrophobic or rendered hydrophobic relative to the compressed absorbent member. The fluid pervious overwrap therefore tends to remain free of fluid as the fluid is preferentially partitioned into the absorbent member.

A method for making a tampon may comprise compressing an uncompressed pledget in a compression machine and feeding the compressed pledget with a compression member into a tampon mold having a mold cavity for receiving the compressed pledget, the compressed pledget thickness being no more that about 20% different than the uncompressed pledget thickness and the tampon mold having a mold cavity thickness no more than about 10% different than the thickness of the compressed pledget.
