  • Publication number: 20260189741
Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to an inflight entertainment system including a content server storing content for distribution through at least one cabin network to video display units. The content server is operative to perform various operations including obtaining through cabin network seatbelt status indications indicating whether seatbelt mechanisms associated with passenger seats are fastened. The operations include determining that fastened seatbelts are required for passengers. The operations include identifying based on the seatbelt status indications which of the seats are occupied by passengers and do not have seatbelt mechanisms fastened. The operations include identifying a video display unit that is associated with the identified seat. The operations include communicating through at least one cabin network to the video display unit a notification indicating that fastening of the seatbelt mechanism is required.

  • Publication number: 20260162194
Abstract: A power management system for supplying power from an aircraft electrical power source to PEDs. The power management system includes a plurality of power control circuits connected to power outputs configured to supply power to PEDs, and a power management circuit. The power management circuit obtains passenger-specific travel information associated with a passenger corresponding to a respective PED, and determines, based at least in part on the passenger-specific travel information, an allowed subscription power level for the respective PED. The power management circuit controls the power supplied to the respective PED via the respective power control circuit based on the determined allowed subscription power level. The operation to control the power supplied to the respective PED may include to negotiate with the respective PED an agreement for an agreed subscription power level that the respective PED is authorized to be supplied based on the determined allowed subscription power level.

  • Patent number: 12548455
Abstract: A ground-based content curation platform identifies geographically-relevant content having metadata indicating a geographic relevance area which satisfies a relevance rule relative to the present location of the aircraft. The platform distributes the geographically-relevant content to an IFE system of the aircraft for local storage and access by passengers, wherein the geographically-relevant content is distributed through the at least one network interface and routed through a satellite radio communication system or a terrestrial radio communications system. The platform repeats the identification of geographically-relevant content and the distribution of the geographically-relevant content to initiate replacement of the geographically-relevant content at the IFE system, based on a threshold change in location of the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20250304255
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an IFE system including at least one network interface, at least one processor connected to communicate through the at least one network interface, and at least one memory storing instructions executable by the at least one processor to perform operations. The operations include obtaining an aircraft geographic location and heading. The operations also include selecting a set of AOEs from an AOEs database that satisfy a relevance rule to what is viewable by a passenger through a window of an aircraft. The operations also include communicating with a display device to display an indication of the AOEs in the selected set which are viewable by the passenger.
