Abstract: A technique for suggesting patterns to search documents for information of interest includes acquiring a working set of spans for a document set that includes one or more documents. A list of one or more suggested patterns is generated by applying a pattern suggestion algorithm (PSA) to the set of spans for each document in the document set. One or more unique patterns are generated by applying a pattern consolidation algorithm (PCA) to the generated list of suggested patterns. Pattern information for each of the unique patterns is then generated. The pattern information includes a respective first count that corresponds to the number of times each of the unique patterns occurs in the document set.

Abstract: Provided are techniques for creating a hierarchy of results. An unstructured result set is received. Each result in the unstructured result set is hashed into a preliminary result set. For each hashed result, one or more related concepts are obtained using one or more taxonomies; one or more matches between the one or more related concepts and other hashed results in the preliminary result set are found; a candidate group for the hashed result is formed, wherein the candidate group includes the hashed result and one or more other hashed results based on the one or more matches; in response to determining that a frequency associated with the hashed result exceeds a threshold, the candidate group associated with that hashed result is compared with pre-existing groups that are in use; and, based on the comparing, one or more suggestions regarding the candidate group are provided.

Abstract: An SQL procedure deployment system deploys a query procedure comprising a procedural logic component and a database request component from a source system to a target system. At generation of the query procedure, the system generates a query procedure source code, a symbol table, and an encapsulated optimization results to regenerate run-time instructions for query statements of the database request component and make the query statements function with a deployed procedural logic component. The system maintains an association between the procedural logic component and the database request component during deployment. The system copies an internal representation of the procedural logic component to the target system without regeneration. The system regenerates the database request component to recreate the query procedure on the target system and to maintain a consistent interface between the procedural logic component and database request component.
