  • Patent number: 5995885
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for monitoring the measured-value detection for an electronic power control of a motor of a vehicle is suggested wherein the single computing element outputs a signal which operates on at least one of its input channels or operates indirectly on this at least one input channel by changing the supply voltage. A fault condition is detected when the variable, which is supply via this input channel, exceeds at least one pregiven limit value correlated in time to the output of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 5822706
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for checking the operability of the measured value detection system for an electronic power control arrangement of a motor vehicle. In the invention, and to check operation, the measured variable is converted by an analog/digital converter of the computer and is compared to a signal level determined from a signal derived from this measured variable. A fault condition in the area of the measured value detection system is assumed when impermissible deviations are determined between the two signals.

  • Patent number: 5654888
Abstract: A control arrangement for vehicles is suggested which includes at least two computer elements for carrying out at least the same control function. Measures for checking the operability of the control arrangement are provided. The execution of these measures is allocated to the at least two computer elements in such a manner that each computer element carries out at least one of the monitoring measures. This monitoring measure is not carried out by the other computing element.

  • Patent number: 5623905
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for controlling an internal combustion engine. An electronic adjustment of a power adjusting unit for influencing the supply of air is provided. The adjustment of this power adjusting unit as well as a value representing the load of the engine are detected. For monitoring purposes, the variable representing the load and the adjustment value of the power adjusting unit are compared to each other. The maximum position of the power adjusting unit is limited in dependence upon the load and/or the engine rpm in such a manner that the range of high loads is not reached.
