Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing N,N'-disubstituted p-quinonediimines of general formula I ##STR1## wherein a corresponding N,N'-disubstituted p-phenylenediamine is oxidized in alkaline/alcoholic solution, and also their use. The invention further provides organosilanes containing methacryloxy or acryloxy groups and having general formula II ##STR2## where R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are identical or different alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and m is equal to 0 or 1 or 2, which organosilanes contain N,N'-disubstituted p-quinonediimines. Processes for preparing and stabilizing organosilanes of general formula II are described.

Abstract: Acryloyloxypropylalkoxysilane compositions containing one or more acryloyloxypropylalkoxysilanes of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, independently, identical or different alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, m is an integer from 0 to 2 and R is hydrogen or a methyl group, and an amount of one or more tertiary amines sufficient to provide a pH higher than the intrinsic pH of the acryloyloxypropylalkoxysilane itself and to improve shelf storage, a process for their preparation, and to their use in preparing silicon-containing coating materials and paints.

Abstract: The present invention is in the preparation of methacrylic or acryloxyalkylalkoxysilanes by the reaction at a temperature of from 80.degree. and 130.degree. C. of an alkali (meth) acrylate with a halogen alkylalkoxysilane in the presence of a quaternary ammonium salt which has long-chin alkyl moieties, in which the sum of all carbon atoms is between 10 and 40 as a phase-transfer catalyst. In the new procedure no solvents need to be used. The yields are better than 95%.

Abstract: Organosilanes comprising methacryloxy groups or acryloxy groups are stabilized with a mixture consisting of at least one N,N'-di-substituted-p-phenylenediamine and at least one substituted phenol, which yields products with high purity and high yields.
