Abstract: In a recording and reproducing apparatus and a recording and reproducing method for the recording and reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing image information on a scene obtained through photographing, relative to a predetermined first recording medium and being capable of setting one or more chapters to each scene, a face recognizing process is executed for a photographed image based on the image information, an importance level of each chapter is set in accordance with a result of the face recognizing process for a very important person (VIP) set by a user, and each chapter having a relevant importance level among importance levels of respective chapters is selectively reproduced. A user can therefore find an object chapter and scene quickly and easily.

Abstract: In a prior cosmetic, a cosmetic product provided with sufficient storage stability together with excellent usability can not be realized, and it has been an actual state that a cosmetic product having sense of non-tackiness etc. and excellent usability has poor storage stability. In the present invention, as a cosmetic, a cosmetic for producing a cosmetic product having more excellent usability and storage stability, and a method for making the same, are provided. The cosmetic of the present invention is characterized in that it comprises an amino acid oil gelling agent, a polyamide resin and one or more monoesters selected from a monoester having a C9 to C24 linear chain or branched chain fatty acid residue and/or a C9 to C24 linear chain or branched chain alcohol residue, and thereby, a cosmetic product having excellent usability and sufficient storage stability in combination can be realized.

Abstract: A recording and reproducing apparatus capable of solving a problem that, after a user edits video information recorded in a recording medium of a video camera, the user later cannot cancel the editing operation and cannot restore the edited video information to its initial information before edited. When the user edits video information recorded in a first recording medium; the video information deleted through the editing, video modification history information based on the editing, and data management information of the recording medium are recorded in a temporary storage area of a second recording medium. Thus, the user can cancel the editing of the video information and restore the information to its initial information before edited.

Abstract: The present invention relates to cosmetics comprising a hydroxyl compound obtained by the reaction of a di- or higher-valent alcohol with a monovalent carboxylic acid and dimer acid, characterized in that the hydroxyl compound is obtained by reacting diglycerin with isostearic acid, and then reacting the obtained ester compound with dimer acid, wherein a molar ratio among diglycerin, isostearic acid and dimer acid is in the range of 1.0:1.4 to 1.6:0.5 to 0.8. The present invention provides cosmetics comprising the hydroxyl compounds having a high hydroxyl value.

Abstract: A method of enhancing percutaneous absorption of a water-soluble agent comprises the steps of: applying a preparation for external use on skin, which preparation contains a water-soluble agent, onto skin, and applying an oil based composition for external use on skin onto the preparation for external use on skin, which preparation has been applied onto the skin. The composition contains 50% by mass to 95% by mass of an oil constituent, which contains 10% by mass to 100% by mass of a solid or semisolid oil constituent, and 5% by mass to 50% by mass of particles. The composition has occlusivity of at least 50%.

Abstract: There is little information to display on an LCD during the replicating process of image information from a first recording medium to a second recording medium. Therefore unnecessary power is consumed by keeping the luminance of the LCD high during the replicating process of the image information. In order to solve the problem, the function to restrain power consumption by changing the luminance of the backlight during the replicating process of the image information from the first recording medium to the second recording medium is provided. With the use of the above-mentioned function, the power consumption of the recording and reproducing apparatus during the replicating process of the image information from the first recording medium to the second recording medium can be restrained.

Abstract: The objective of this invention is to provide an oily external composition for skin having an excellent rough skin recovering/preventing effect, and wherein powder is well dispersed in oil. An oily external composition for skin of this invention is characterized in that comprising a complex powder (the surface of lipophilic base powder is covered with zinc oxide) and an oil component, wherein said complex powder is dispersed in said oil component, and wherein zeta-potential of said lipophilic base powder is negative value at pH on skin. It is preferable that zeta-potential of said lipophilic base powder is ?10 mV or less at pH on skin. It is preferable that said lipophilic base powder is swelled in the condition of dispersing in oil. Above-mentioned external composition can be used as a rough skin recovering composition and a sensitive skin caring composition.

When this composition is applied on the hyperchromic portion of the skin, the hyperchromic portion naturally becomes inconspicuous without deteriorating the transparent feel of the skin.Also, in the colored titanium oxide coated mica is characterized that, as a skin-color adjusting composition, a fine particle of iron oxide having an average particle diameter of 60-150 nm is coated on the titanium oxide coated mica, so as not to be big the absorption of light by iron oxide on the surface and not to be weakened by the transmitted interference color.

Abstract: A magneto-optical recording medium having at least two kinds of films consisting of a rare earth metal-transition metal alloy thin film and a dielectric film formed on a substrate. The dielectric film is formed by sputtering a target in an atmosphere containing at least an oxygen gas or a compound gas containing oxygen as one constitutional element. Particularly, the use of a carbon dioxide gas CO.sub.2 or a carbon monoxide gas CO provides for an SiCON film rather than an Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 film. The SiCON film has a refractive index and an absorptivity almost identical with those of the Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 film, and has a thermal conductivity smaller than that of the Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 film. As a result, it has been found that the SiCON film is advantageous from the viewpoints of a magnetic field sensitivity and a film thickness.
