  • Publication number: 20090255689
Abstract: A method is provided of radially expanding a tubular element. The method comprises inducing the wall of the tubular element to bend radially outward and in axially reverse direction so as to form an expanded section of the tubular element extending around an unexpanded section of the tubular element, wherein said bending occurs in a bending zone of the wall, and wherein an annular space is defined between the unexpanded and expanded sections. At least one guide member is located in the annular space, each guide member being arranged to guide the wall during said bending so that the wall bends at an increased bending radius relative to bending of the wall in case the guide member is absent from the annular space.

  • Publication number: 20080309656
Abstract: A display device (500) having a plurality of picture cells (502) is controlled by adding a phase change to the regular cyclic inversion scheme. Thereby, it is possible to overcome the drawbacks of DC build-up due to, e.g., de-interlaced images and images comprising rotating symbols and “ticker tape”. The control involves receiving an image signal comprising image data relating to the picture cells. A respective electric field across each picture cell is controlled, in dependence on at least the image data, according to a first polarity inversion scheme where the polarity of the electric field is such that polarity inversion occurs at regular intervals, and according to a second polarity inversion scheme concurrent with said first polarity inversion scheme, where the polarity of the electric field such that polarity inversion occurs at pseudo-random intervals.

  • Publication number: 20080223568
Abstract: An expander is provided for radially expanding a tubular element, the expander having an axially forward direction and being provided with thrust means for exerting a thrust force to the expander to move the expander in axially forward direction through the tubular element. The expander comprises an adjustable cone having an expander surface tapering radially inward in the axially forward direction, the adjustable cone being movable between a radially expanded mode and a radially collapsed mode. The expander further comprises adjusting means for moving the adjustable cone from the collapsed mode to the expanded mode by the action of said thrust force exerted to the thrust means.

  • Patent number: 7140430
Abstract: An expander for radially expanding a tubular element, comprising an expander body connectable to an elongate member for moving the expander in axial direction through the tubular element, the expander body having a first body portion and a second body portion axially displaced from the first body portion, wherein the first body portion has a larger outer diameter than the second body portion. A set of expander segments is arranged around the expander body, each segment being movable relative the expander body between a radically extended position in which the segment is axially aligned with the first body portion and a radially retracted position in which the segment is axially aligned with the second body portion. Actuating means is provided for moving each segment between the extended position and the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 7111679
Abstract: An expander for radially expanding a tubular element by axial movement of the expander through the tubular element is provided. The expander comprising an expander member having a front part of a first cross-sectional size; a rear part of a second cross-sectional size larger than the first cross-sectional size; and an intermediate part arranged between said front part; and, rear part and having a cross-sectional size varying between said first and second cross-sectional sizes. The expander member is provided with fluid supply means for supplying pressurized fluid to the inner surface of the tubular element at a location opposite the intermediate part when the expander member is arranged in the tubular element.

  • Patent number: 7040018
Abstract: A method is provided of radially expanding a connector for interconnecting a first tube to a second tube, the connector including a pin member extending into a box member. The pin and box members have cooperating support means arranged to support the pin member so as to prevent radially inward movement of the end portion of the pin member relative to the box member. The method involves radially expanding the connector, and supporting the pin member so as to prevent radially inward movement of the end portion of the pin member relative to the box member.

  • Patent number: 6910663
Abstract: The invention provides pectins as new foam stabilizers for (temporary) foam heads in beverages, in particular in beers, especially beers of the pilsner type. These foam stabilizers are preferably obtained from hops, which is a constituent that is inherent in beer and accordingly offers the advantage, among others, that the foam stabilizers need to have no negative effect on the taste of the beer. Preferably, the pectins are obtained from hop cones or bines. It may be advantageous to partially saponify (de-esterify) the pectins, in connection with the number of charged groups on the pectins. In addition, the invention provides methods for obtaining the pectins and beverages stabilized with the pectins according to the invention.
