  • Patent number: 6008571
Abstract: A color cathode ray tube has a shadow mask. The shadow mask is provided with a layer of a material having an average Z number below 20 on the side facing the phosphor screen. The layer is preferable deposited by means of electrodeposition.

  • Patent number: 5811919
Abstract: A thin-panel picture display device having a luminescent screen is provided and by means of an addressing system, electrons are directed towards desired locations on the luminescent screen. A spacer plate of electrically insulating material, with apertures for passing electrons, is present between the addressing system and the screen. To provide the possibility of applying voltage differences of at least 5 kV across the thickness of the spacer plate, at least the walls of the apertures are coated with a coating of particles of nitrides, borides, carbides, oxides of chromium, yttrium, tantalum, with a secondary emission coefficient of .delta..sub.max .ltoreq.3.5 and an electrical sheet resistance of at least 10.sup.12 .OMEGA./.quadrature..

  • Patent number: 5633559
Abstract: A color display tube comprising a color selection structure which is provided with a layer of getter material, the surface on which the layer of getter material being provided is rough. In this manner heat radiation is increased and doming of the color selection structure is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5087854
Abstract: A display device having a pattern of conductors recessed on an electrode, thus reducing the risk of the pattern of conductors being damaged such as from a surface scratch. When the pattern of conductors and the plate are separated from each other by an insulating layer, the pattern of conductors screens the insulating layer from the electron beam. The method is characterized in that grooves are formed between the apertures, and an insulating layer and conducting layer are provided on the walls of the apertures and the grooves.

  • Patent number: 4931689
Abstract: The invention relates to a color display tube comprising a shadow mask (12) placed in front of the display screen (8). The shadow mask (12), at least on the side remote from the display screen, is coated with a glass layer (14) comprising a heavy metal. The object of such a layer is to reflect electrons incident on it so as to reduce local or overall heating. By means of the glass layer it is achieved that it crumbles away less easily, which inter alia is in favor of the picture quality, and that the shadow mask is more rigid.
