  • Patent number: 11897217
Abstract: A method to manufacture an electronic device to be applied to rubber article. The device comprises an electronic element, two layers of thermoplastic material which are arranged in a sandwich-like manner so as to contain, between one another, the electronic element, and at least an outer rubber layer arranged to cover an outer surface of at least one of the respective thermoplastic layers. The method comprises a preliminary step comprising (a) a deposition operation, during which an adhesive solution consisting of a basic water solution comprising a latex of an elastomer rubber and a combination of resorcinol and formaldehyde is applied on at least one outer surface of one of the layers of thermoplastic material; and (b) a heating operation, during which the layers of thermoplastic material on which the adhesive solution was applied are kept at a temperature ranging from 120 to 230° C. for an amount of time ranging from 2 to 15 min.

  • Patent number: 11820090
Abstract: A system and method is provided for reading and/or writing data from/on RFID tags of tires conveyed on a conveyor belt in a conveyance direction, wherein each tire is fitted with a respective RFID tag storing a univocal identifier of said tire. An antenna is installed over or nearby the conveyor belt and configured to radiate RF signals toward a footprint area on the conveyor belt and receive backscattered RF signals from said footprint area. A reader is connected to the antenna to operate the latter in transmission and reception. A preliminary calibration step is applied to the reader and a reading and/or writing step is carried out by operating the calibrated reader.

  • Publication number: 20230144232
Abstract: The invention concerns an RFID sensor device (1, 2, 3) for tires, designed to be embedded/integrated, at least partially, in/into, or applied to, a tire (4) and comprising a patch-type antenna that includes a multilayer structure comprising: a bottom ground plane (10, 20, 30); an intermediate dielectric substrate (11, 21, 31) arranged on the bottom ground plane (10, 20, 30); and one or more top conductive patches (12, 13, 22, 32) arranged on the intermediate dielectric substrate (11, 21, 31) and covering partially or completely said intermediate dielectric substrate (11, 21, 31), wherein said bottom ground plane (10, 20, 30) and said one or more top conductive patches (12, 13, 22, 32) are short-circuited or capacitively coupled.
