Patent number: 9166865Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure a system and technique for mobility operation resource allocation is disclosed. The system includes a first machine having a running application, and a management console operable to manage migrating the running application from the first machine to a second machine. The management console is operable to: display an interface indicating a plurality of selectable mobility settings, each mobility setting corresponding to a desired resource allocation to utilize for the migration; receive via the interface, a selection of a mobility setting to apply for migrating the running application; and initiate migration of the running application from the first machine to the second machine utilizing resources as set by the selected mobility setting.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2012Date of Patent: October 20, 2015Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Maria Garza, Neal R. Patent number: 8723915Abstract: An audio/video communication system displays the status of participants in a video chat session. The system includes multiple video chat capable (VCC) information handling systems (IHSs) that display video images of the participants. In this manner, each user may see the user's own video image as well as the video images of other users in the video chat session. When a user speaks, that user's VCC IHS detects audio, thus designating a speaker participant. This user's VCC IHS includes a gaze direction detector that determines at which particular user video image the user gazes, thus determining a target participant. The VCC IHS sends speaker participant ID information and target participant ID information to other VCC IHSs in the video chat session. In response, the other VCC IHSs display an indicator that designates one user video image as the speaker participant and another user video image as the target participant.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2010Date of Patent: May 13, 2014Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Luis A Garcia, Jose Luis Lopez, Jorge A Rasillo, Francisco J Alanis, Maria Garza, Edward O Cantu
