Patent number: 11912218Abstract: A bumper crossmember comprising a wave structure oriented in the vertical direction (z direction), wherein the wave structure comprises at least three apex structures which extend in the bumper crossmember longitudinal direction and are adjacent in the vertical direction. This crossmember comprises a first length section that follows its longitudinal extent, at least one second length section that follows its longitudinal extent, and at least one transition section that is arranged respectively between these length sections. In the second length section, the wave structure is inverted with respect to the first length section, in that the opening direction of the apex structures switches in the transition section. In the transition section, there is at least one additional apex-forming structure, the apex of which is offset in the frontal direction (x direction) with respect to a frontal plane (yz-plane) in which at least two apex structures that are adjacent in the longitudinal sections lie.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2020Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: KIRCHHOFF AUTOMOTIVE DEUTSCHLAND GMBHInventors: Patrick Tlauka, Cristina Matthey, Ralf Stegmeyer, Rolf Peter Röttger, Marco Töller, Rolf Schwarzer, Stephan Lagin, Maria Schmitt, Lena Kremer

Publication number: 20160319311Abstract: The invention relates to a process for biochemical synthesis of 1,4-butanediamine in a microorganism having an increased level of an ornithine decarboxylase activity (increased ODC activity) as compared to the native level of the ornithine decarboxylase activity, wherein the increased ODC activity is obtained by means of overexpression of an ornithine decarboxylase encoding gene with increased translational and/or transcriptional efficiency, and wherein 1,4-butanediamine produced in the microorganism is excreted into a fermentation broth, and is recovered from the fermentation broth. In preferred embodiments also increased enzyme activity is obtained by of overexpression of either (i) an arginine decarboxylase encoding gene speA and an agmatinase encoding genespeB; or (ii) an arginine decarboxylase encoding gene speA and an agmatine iminohydrolase encoding gene aguA, and an N-carbamoylpotrescine amidohydrolase encoding geneaguB, and optionally also an agmatinase encoding gene speB.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2016Publication date: November 3, 2016Inventors: Katrin EPPELMANN, Petrus Martinus Matheus NOSSIN, Susanne Maria KREMER, Marcel Gerhardus WUBBOLTS

Patent number: 7503417Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided that classifies a seat occupant into one of several different weight classes based on an estimated value of the seat occupant weight. An occupant's measured weight varies when the occupant's seating position changes or when the vehicle travels over adverse road conditions. A plurality of weight sensors are used to measure the weight exerted by a seat occupant against a seat bottom and are used to determine center of gravity for the seat occupant. A seat belt force sensor is also used to assist in classifying the seat occupant. Compensation factors using the seat belt force and center of gravity information are used to generate an estimated weight value. The estimated value of the occupant weight is compared to a series of upper and lower weight thresholds assigned to each of the weight classes to generate an occupant weight sample class. Over a period of time, several estimated weight values are compared to the weight class thresholds.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2006Date of Patent: March 17, 2009Assignee: Continental Automotive Systems US, Inc.Inventors: Harald Lichtinger, Brian M. Curtis, Robert Graf, Daniel Reich, Scott Morrell, Maria Kremer
