  • Publication number: 20220117743
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for designing an implant comprising designing a contour curvature of the implant so that an articulating surface of the implant is designed to correspond to a simulated healthy articulating surface of a damaged articulating surface of a joint. The implant is provided with at least one positioning mark designed to be used for determining the orientation in which the implant is to be placed in a recess made in a damaged articulating surface of a joint. Further, the present invention relates to methods for positioning and inserting a medical implant in a recess.

  • Publication number: 20210322174
Abstract: A method for designing an implant includes designing a contour curvature of the implant so that an articulate surface of the implant is designed to correspond to a simulated healthy cartilage surface reconstructed from a 3D model based on one or more images taken with MRI or CT-scanning of a damaged cartilage surface of a joint; and providing a positioning mark on a surface of the implant. The positioning mark is provided such that the positioning mark is parted from the center of the implant to be visible for a surgeon and is adapted to be used for indicating a rotational position of the implant to the surgeon.

  • Patent number: 10451689
Abstract: A method is provided to prevent a permissible specific absorption rate being exceeded during a magnetic resonance examination and to an evaluation unit. The method includes a first provisioning unit providing a permissible SAR to an evaluation unit. A second provisioning unit, which may be identical to the first provisioning unit, provides a scan protocol for the magnetic resonance examination to the evaluation unit. The evaluation unit checks the scan protocol for the permissible SAR. If this check reveals that the permissible SAR is not adhered to, the scan protocol is modified. In this case, the modification of the scan protocol entails the amendment of at least one scan parameter of the scan protocol. The amendment of the at least one scan parameter is performed in dependence on at least one preference parameter.

  • Patent number: 10254372
Abstract: A method is provided for recording, with a magnetic resonance device, magnetic resonance data of a target region of a patient moved by their breathing. An optical camera arranged in a bore of the magnetic resonance device directed onto the patient is used. Image data of the patient recorded by the camera before and/or during the recording of the magnetic resonance data is evaluated to form breathing information describing the breathing state and the breathing information is used for triggering and/or movement correction and/or assessment of a process in which a patient holds their breath.

  • Patent number: 10143556
Abstract: A design method for designing a guide tool including a guide channel for use during cartilage repair in a joint is disclosed. The design method includes: selecting a direction along a joint axis indicating placement of the guide tool in the joint; and placing a positioning mark on the guide tool. The positioning mark is designed to be aligned with the center of said guide channel on a determined joint axis direction and thereby indicating a placement direction of the guide tool in relation to the selected joint axis during use of the guide tool. A design method of insert tools and/or an implant comprising positioning marks and also the guide tool, implant and insert tools designed using this method are also disclosed.
