Abstract: A system and method for making proceeds of an ACH (Automated Clearinghouse) transaction available to a user before the transaction is completed. The system may be part of an on-line system or traditional merchant configured to facilitate payments or fund transfers from users. A user requests the transfer of funds to an entity (e.g., another user, a merchant, the user's account with the system) via an ACH entry. The system calculates a risk associated with the user, while considering various data (e.g., number of previous ACH entries, how many failed, how many succeeded, amount of the transfer). If the risk is low enough, the ACH entry is initiated and the desired funds are released for the transfer even before the ACH entry clears. The ACH entry may be presented as a default choice for funding the transfer.

Abstract: Cosmetic or personal care compositions comprise: gelled particles, wherein the gelled particles comprise water and at least 80% by volume of the particles have an aspect ratio of at least 2 and a maximum width of 100 ?m; and at least one cosmetically acceptable material selected from surfactants, hair conditioning agents, perfumes or fragrances and hair styling polymers. The compositions may be hair treatment compositions and the gelled particles can be employed to deliver hair benefit agents and to impart desirable textural properties to the compositions.

Abstract: An analytical instrument measures dissolved carbon in a sample liquid. A syringe pump selectively pumps liquids from valve inlets to a first valve outlet. A sparger receives a sample liquid and a base liquid from the first valve outlet and provides purgeable organic carbon POC gasses. A chemical reactor receives the POC gasses and generates carbon dioxide CO2. A controller coupled to the analytical instrument provides a control actuation sequence to a valve control input and a pump control input. The CO2 couples to an analyzer. The controller generates a first analyzer output that represents a concentration of dissolved POC in the sample liquid.
