Abstract: Systems and methods for automated local story generation and curation are described. In one example embodiment, a server computer receives content from client devices, and processes the content to identify content characteristics. Stories are then generated based on the characteristics of the received content, and the stories are communicated to client devices. In certain embodiments, selection at a client device of an individual piece of content within a story may further be used by the system to provide the client device with a sub-story that includes pieces of content sharing content characteristics with the characteristics of the selected image or video.

Abstract: A content suggestion system to generate and cause display of a set of chat suggestions based on messages received at a client device. The content suggestions system is configured to display messages that include message content at a client device, and identify content selected by a user of the client device to be included in a response to the messages received at the client device. The content suggestion system tracks and stores a number of times in which a particular pair of content appear in succession in a chat context, and calculates a ranking of the content among a set of available content. When subsequent messages that include the content of the content pair are displayed at the client device, the content suggestion system retrieves and presents a set of content as suggestions, based on the corresponding ranks.

By extracting the document text from the image, and analyzing visual clues from the text, a grid is constructed over the image representing the distortions in the image. Transforming the image to straighten this grid removes distortions introduced by the camera image-capture process. Variations in lighting, the extraction of text line information, and the modeling of curved lines in the image may be corrected.
