  • Publication number: 20110010812
Abstract: A new Eichhornia crassipes plant named ‘Johann schoofs Sen’ is provided which is well suited to serve as a biomass renewable energy source. The plant is particularly well suited to metabolize carbon dioxide from emissions. A free-floating small compact mat-like growth habit is displayed with an intertwined root ball. A typical leaf petiole is absent, and the roots are finely structured. The leaves are dark green in coloration, and the plant survives well under low-light conditions. The plant generates itself from new shoots and commonly can double its biomass in approximately 10 to 14 days.

  • Publication number: 20100333244
Abstract: A new Lemna minor plant named ‘Henry Blanke’ is provided. The plant is particularly well suited to serve as a biomass renewable energy source. The plant is small in stature but unlike Dwarf Duckweed possesses short roots which well enable the absorption of nutrients present in water. Such short roots also enable the ready separation of adjoining plants. Strong green leaves are displayed. The plant is well able to maintain active biosynthesis under low light conditions. The plant is particularly well suited to metabolize carbon dioxide from emissions with a simultaneous increase of mass.

  • Publication number: 20080201811
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Fallopia plant named ‘Igniscum,’ characterized by foliage which is elliptical, with a twisted top, a straight line at the lower margin, a leaf color of moss green with a velvety upper surface texture at leaf maturity. The lower surface is coriaceous, the leaves are very firm and with little moisture. The margins of the leaves are smooth, the lateral nerves connect at the side of the leaf in a roof-tile structure. The leaf stalks are burgundy even at maturity. The blossoms are creamy white.

  • Patent number: 5900038
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cultivation substrate and to a method of preparing the same. The cultivation substrate of the invention contains comminuted plants selected from among knot grass, C.sub.4 plants and plants of the cannabis and Dicksonia genuses, and is suited as a peat substitute.

  • Patent number: PP21304
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Fallopia sachalinese plant named ‘Igniscum’; characterized by foliage which is elliptical, with an acuminate shape at the top, a straight line at the lower region, a leaf color of green-group 135C with a velvety upper surface texture at leaf maturity. The lower surface is coriaceous, the leaves are very firm and with a film providing a slightly wet appearance. The margins of the leaves are smooth, the lateral nerves connect at the side of the leaf in an inverted V-shaped structure. The leaf stalks are red-purple-group 59B even at maturity. The blossoms are orange-white-group 159C.
