Publication number: 20220139507Abstract: Examples are described herein for using medical test results to trigger routine for medical supply replenishment. In various examples, based on a result of a medical test administered to a subject at a first medical facility, it may be determined that the subject has an exogenous medical condition. In response to determining that the subject has the exogenous medical condition, a message may be transmitted over a computer network from a computing device associated with the first medical facility to a remote computing device associated with a second medical facility. The message may trigger the remote computing device to initiate a routine to replenish medical supplies associated with the exogenous medical condition at the second medical facility.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2019Publication date: May 5, 2022Applicant: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Mithra Vankipuram, Eric Faggin, Alexander Thayer, Josep-Maria Serra

Patent number: 10382654Abstract: In an example, a method includes receiving print data indicative of an image to be printed on a substrate. The print data may indicate an image portion in which an image is present and a void portion in which the image is absent. An amount of background print agent to be applied to a region of the substrate corresponding to the locations of the image portion and the void portion on the substrate when the image is printed may be determined. In examples, the amount of background print agent determined to be applied to a region of the substrate corresponding to the location of the void portion on the substrate when the image is printed is greater than the amount of a background print agent to be applied to the region of the substrate corresponding to the location of the image portion on the substrate when the image is printed.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2016Date of Patent: August 13, 2019Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Barret Kammerzell, Josep-Maria Serra, Pablo Vidal Alvarez, Utpal Kumar Sarkar

Patent number: 7311395Abstract: Inkjet printing of barcodes is enhanced by several methods. In a printhead having two staggered columns of nozzles, using only the even (or odd) column enhances resolution of a vertical barcode element. Filling interior portions of the barcode element with the odd (or even) column improves barcode appearance. Barcode swelling, due to ink migration after application, is reduced by use of a depletion matrix to lessen the quantity of ink applied. Application of the depletion matrix to the edges of the barcode elements resists swelling where resolution is most required. Where a printing mask is applied to the edges of the barcode elements, the edges may be printed only by one column of printhead nozzles, or only during one direction of printhead movement, or both. Alternately, removal of one or more pixels along the edge of a barcode element allows each barcode element to swell to the desired size.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2001Date of Patent: December 25, 2007Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Lluis Vinals-Matas, Josep-Maria Serra, Antoni Murcia

Patent number: 6965452Abstract: A program creates a unitary mask for use over a whole image, with one pattern. The mask need not be full image size; it may be tiled. In the field a printer forms a mask and prints with it, best in the same session, before another image needing another mask, whether due to different image activity or type, or operating conditions. Constraints are controlled to ensure solution. Printout can start before a mask (even the part needed to finish a top swath) is done, going columnwise in each swath. In other invention facets, a program forms a mask of size significant relative to the program and prints with it. Other facets check print conditions and form adapted masks; or find nozzles that cannot back up a known-failed nozzle and to back it up form masks with all able nozzles; or assess image activity and inject mask randomness accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1998Date of Patent: November 15, 2005Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Joan Manuel Garcia, Juan Carles Vives, Gonzalo Gaston, Josep Maria Serra, Shailendra Kumar, Javier Lagares

Patent number: 6862109Abstract: A program with complete conditions for a usable mask yields a unitary mask, each try. One mask pattern is used throughout an image, but may be “tiled”. Preferably the program, for given mask position, expresses favorability of several candidate pass numbers as a “neighborhood constraint” in the form of a weight; distills the weights into one weight for each pass number; based on that, chooses a number for the position; and iterates for all positions. Many preferences are very useful, e. g. automatically balancing randomness vs. determinism, and several generalized relative notations. Another invention facet uses an input text file of mask constraints; a program reads constraints from the file, applies them, forms a mask and stores/uses it. Another reprocesses a mask for best image quality, fixing its own imperfections of first-round mask forming.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2003Date of Patent: March 1, 2005Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Joan Manel Garcia, Matt Bonner, Mark Hickman, Josep Maria Serra
