  • Patent number: 12284707
Abstract: Systems and methods manage data traffic by converging a mobile network operator (MNO) core network with a multiple-system operator (MSO) core network (e.g., a Hybrid-Mobile Virtual Network Operator (H-MVNO) core network). The system architecture includes one or more standards-based inter-network interfaces (e.g., as defined by Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards) established between the MSO core network and the MNO core network and/or a dedicated core to provide a data signal pathway between the MNO core network and the MSO core network. As such, a user equipment (UE) receives data services through the H-MVNO core network via the standards-based inter-network interface when the UE is connected to a radio access network (RAN) for the MNO core network. Various configurations provide data services for single-subscriber identity module (SIM) UEs and dual-SIM UEs. Voice/message services are provided by a voice/message core.

  • Patent number: 12149333
Abstract: Various arrangements are presented for using an estimated timing advance for user equipment communications. A location of an instance of user equipment may be determined. An estimated distance between the user equipment and a communication satellite may be determined using the determined location of the user equipment and an estimated satellite location. An estimated timing offset using the calculated estimated distance may be determined. An uplink data frame may be transmitted by the user equipment to the satellite such that a timing of transmission of the uplink data frame is based on the calculated estimated timing offset.

  • Publication number: 20240284409
Abstract: Various arrangements for performing grant-free uplink transmissions are presented herein. A user equipment (UE) can determine data that is to be transmitted using a grant-free uplink transmission to a base station of a cellular network. Three or more grant-free transmission blocks may be selected by the UE. The same data payload may be transmitted on each grant-free transmission block. The first grant-free transmission block can indicate the end of a chain of linked grant-free transmissions and have a pointer that references the second grant-free transmission block. The second grant-free transmission can include pointers that refer to the first grant-free transmission block and a third grant-free transmission block.

  • Patent number: 12010657
Abstract: Various arrangements for performing uplink grant-free transmissions are presented herein. An instance of user equipment (UE) may determine data that is to be transmitted using a grant-free (GF) uplink transmission to a base station of a cellular network. The UE may select a first GF resource block and a second GF resource block. The UE may transmit GF transmissions that comprise: a data payload and a first pointer at the first GF resource block; and the data payload and a second pointer at the second GF resource block. The first pointer may refer to the second GF resource block, while the second pointer may refer to the first GP resource block.

  • Patent number: 11811491
Abstract: A method and apparatus for non-terrestrial network beam switching is provided. A non-terrestrial network base station includes a transmitter configured to transmit downlink data to user equipment and a receiver configured to receive uplink data from the user equipment. A channel bandwidth of the non-terrestrial network base station is divided into a plurality of bandwidth parts respectively corresponding to a plurality of geographic areas, and each bandwidth part is respectively associated with a satellite beam. When the user equipment is located in a first geographic area, the transmitter transmits the downlink data to the user equipment over a corresponding first bandwidth part. After the user equipment transitions from the first geographic area to a second geographic area, the transmitter transmits the downlink data to the user equipment over a corresponding second bandwidth part of the plurality of bandwidth parts.

  • Publication number: 20230337252
Abstract: Various systems and methods for scheduling data transmissions from a base station to user equipment (UE) are presented. Channel quality indicator values that correspond to multiple UE may be determined for multiple carrier components of a cellular network’s carrier aggregation. A scheduling matrix may be created that includes instantaneous data transfer rates for the UE. Elements within the scheduling matrix may be normalized by modifying instantaneous data transmission rates using average data transmission rates. Scheduling decisions for data transfers may be made for the UE based on the normalized scheduling matrix.
