    Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for Uplink operation in LTE unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U). A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive licensed assisted access (LAA) configuration information, e.g., for a first cell from a second cell. The first cell may be associated with operation in an unlicensed band, and the second cell may be associated with operation in a licensed band. The WTRU may determine whether a first subframe subframe is a sounding reference signal (SRS) subframe for the first cell. If the first subframe is an SRS subframe for the first cell, the WTRU may determine SRS resources for the first subframe and determine whether the WTRU is triggered to transmit an SRS transmission in the first subframe. If it is determined the WTRU is triggered to transmit the SRS transmission in the first subframe, the WTRU may transmit the SRS transmission on the SRS resources for the first subframe.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for a low cost machine-type-communication (LC-MTC) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to enhance coverage. An example method for physical broadcast channel (PBCH) enhancement includes receiving system information on an enhanced PBCH (ePBCH). The ePBCH is located in a set of radio frames which is a subset of available radio frames, where the subset includes fewer than all the available radio frames. The ePBCH is received in at least one radio frame of the set of radio frames. An example method for physical random access channel (PRACH) enhancement includes receiving configuration of legacy PRACH resources and enhanced PRACH (ePRACH) resources. The WTRU selects one of legacy PRACH resources or ePRACH resources based on a coverage capability. Another example method for PRACH enhancement includes receiving configuration of ePRACH resources. The ePRACH resources include multiple ePRACH resource types, each ePRACH resource type being associated with a coverage capability.

A device, such as a wireless transmit/receive unit, may determine to use a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) transmission schedule out of a plurality of DM-RS transmission schedules. The DM-RS transmission schedule may be characterized by a DM-RS transmission being mapped to a single orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol per subframe of a data stream. The DM-RS transmission schedule may be characterized by a DM-RS transmission being mapped to a first subset of subcarriers of an OFDM symbol of a subframe of a data stream and Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) transmission or Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) control information being mapped to a second set of subcarriers of the OFDM symbol. The first set of subcarriers may be different than the second set of subcarriers. The data stream may be transmitted according to the DM-RS transmission schedule.

A report collision may occur in a subframe between a periodic CSI report for a first serving cell and a report for a second serving cell. A priority rule may be used to resolve the report collision.

    Abstract: A WTRU may receive downlink control information (DCI) indicating a start of a frame. The DCI may be received on a control channel, such as the Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) from an eNB, base station, AP, or other infrastructure equipment operating in a wireless communications system. The WTRU may decode the DCI and may determine a transmit time interval (TTI) duration, which may be expressed in terms of an integer number of basic time intervals (BTIs). The WTRU may determine a downlink (DL) transmission portion and assignment and an uplink (UL) transmission portion and UL grant based on the received DCI. Additionally, the WTRU may determine the start of the UL portion based on an offset (toffset). The WTRU may receive data in a DL portion of the frame and may transmit in an UL portion of the frame based on the determined UL grant and TTI duration.
