  • Patent number: 9663900
Abstract: A multi-ply tissue paper product includes at least two plies made of tissue paper base-sheet with at least one outer ply being a structured outer ply produced by a structuring manufacturing method. The structured outer ply includes a microstructure pattern on substantially at least 80% of the structured outer ply surface. The microstructure pattern is applied by micro-embossing during a converting operation. The structured outer ply is chosen from a through air dried ply produced by a through air drying (TAD) manufacturing method; a dried ply produced by an advanced tissue molding system (ATMOS), or a dried ply produced by a structured tissue technology (SST) manufacturing method. The microstructure pattern includes a first series of protuberances having a density ranging from approximately 30 to 100 protuberances/cm2. The softness property of the structured outer ply is adjusted during a micro-embossing step.
