Abstract: The present invention is directed to pneumatic tire having a tread comprising a tread base layer and an outer cap layer disposed radially outward of the base layer, the outer cap layer comprising an axially central zone and two lateral zones each disposed axially adjacent to the central zone; the central zone comprising a central zone composition and lateral zones each comprising a lateral zone composition; the central zone composition and the lateral zone composition each comprising, based on 100 parts by weight of elastomer (phr), from about 50 to about 90 phr of a solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber having a glass transition temperature (Tg) ranging from ?65° C. to ?55° C. and functionalized with an alkoxysilane group and at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of primary amines and thiols; from about 50 to about 10 phr of polybutadiene having a cis 1,4 content greater than 95 percent and a Tg ranging from ?80 to ?110° C.

Abstract: A lubricating system indirectly applies a bladder release agent to a green tire and cures the green tire in a tire curing machine. The system includes a deposition device and a curing bladder. The deposition device directly applies bladder release agent on to a deposition bladder. The deposition bladder is inflated within the green tire in order to deposit the bladder release agent on to an inner surface of the green tire. The curing bladder subsequently receives the green tire with bladder release agent deposited therein and cures the green tire.

Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a carcass reinforced by a carcass ply extending from a first bead to a second bead, at least one belt ply disposed radially outward of the carcass ply in a crown portion of the pneumatic tire, and a bead reinforcement disposed adjacent the first bead and the second bead. The bead reinforcement includes at least one hybrid cord having at least one first core yarn with at least one second aramid wrap yarn wrapped around the first core yarn such that the first core yarn has a modulus less than a modulus of the second wrap yarn.

Abstract: A composite cord includes at least one cellulose-fiber first yarn twisted helically about at least one second yarn. The second yarn includes at least one polyamide, polyester, or PEN. The first yarn has a first LASE and the second yarn has a second LASE. The first LASE is higher than the second LASE at a yarn elongation in a range from 0% to 10%.
