  • Patent number: 10012435
Abstract: In a method for producing a first pressurized gas and a second gas on a one-off basis by cryogenic distillation of air, according to a first step, no fluid heats up or cools down in a second heat exchanger, and according to a second step, a flow of pressurized liquid from the double column heats up and vaporizes in the second exchanger to form a gas required on a one-off basis, a flow of air at the second pressure cools in the second exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20140208798
Abstract: An integrated apparatus for separating a mixture of carbon dioxide and at least one other gas and for separating air by air distillation is provided. The apparatus includes a CO2 separation unit configured to separate the mixture, an air separation unit configured to separate air by cryogenic distillation, a water cooling tower that operates by direct contact, a line for sending water to the top of the tower, a line for sending at least one portion of the nitrogen-enriched gas stream to a lower level of the tower, a cooled water line for withdrawing cooled water from the tower and means for cooling the air upstream of the air separation unit, the cooled water line being connected to means for cooling the air upstream of the air separation unit and to the inlet and/or to the outlet of the unit for separating the gaseous mixture.

  • Publication number: 20130340476
Abstract: Device for separating air comprises a pipe for withdrawing liquid oxygen from the low-pressure column and for sending it to a first pump, a pipe for sending liquid oxygen that has been pressurized to a pressure of below 9 bar as from the first pump to a vaporizer, a pipe for sending gaseous oxygen from the vaporizer to a main exchanger Where it is heated up, a pipe for sending liquid oxygen for purging from the vaporizer to a second pump to pressurize it and a pipe for sending the pressurized oxygen from the second pump to an exchanger where it vaporizes to form gaseous oxygen.

  • Publication number: 20120167622
Abstract: In a method for producing oxygen through the distillation of air supplied by air at atmospheric pressure so as to produce a first and second compressed air flow, and through a first purification unit (5) and a second purification unit (7), the first and second compressed air flows at different pressures: the first compressed air flow is sent from a first outlet of the compression means to the first purifying unit at the first pressure; the first purified air flow is sent to a column of the column system (15); the second purified air flow is sent, in an at least partially condensed form, from the second purifying unit to the column system; an oxygen-rich liquid is bled off the column system; said oxygen-rich liquid is vaporized through heat exchange with at least the second purified air flow.
