  • Publication number: 20200349685
Abstract: The present embodiments relate to a method and apparatus comprising: —deriving chroma components (I) of a third image by correcting chroma components (II) of a second image according to a luma component of said second image and a reconstructed component obtained by applying a mapping function to said luma component (III) of said second image, said chroma components (II) of the second image being obtained by applying a conversion matrix to components (IV) of a first image; and —adapting coefficients of the conversion matrix which are relative to a chroma component of said third image independently of coefficients of the conversion matrix which are relative to another chroma component of said third image to ensure that there is no clipping on chroma components of the third image.

  • Publication number: 20200193573
Abstract: The present principles relate to a method and device for gamut mapping from a first color gamut towards a second color gamut. The method comprises, in a plane of constant hue, obtaining a target lightness for a color on the boundary of first gamut with maximum chroma, called first cusp color; and lightness mapping of the color from the first color gamut towards the second color gamut wherein the lightness mapped color is calculated from a parabolic function applied to the color, the parabolic function mapping the first cusp color to a color having the target lightness. According to a particular characteristic, a preserved chroma is also obtained; and in case the chroma of the color is lower than or equal to the preserved chroma, the lightness mapped color is the color, and in case the chroma of the color is higher than the preserved chroma, the lightness mapped color is calculated from the parabolic function applied to the color.

  • Patent number: 10270942
Abstract: Source colors are mapped within a mapping segment starting at a preserved gamut boundary color (PC) and ending at a target gamut boundary color (IT-C) of the chromaticity plane, corresponding, in a linear 3D color space, to an intersection of the target color gamut (TCG) with a plane of constant luminance and with a mapping plane (MKO) comprising said source color (M), a black point (K) and a white point (O).

  • Publication number: 20180160088
Abstract: A method for color mapping a video signal into a mapped video signal responsive to at least one color mapping function is disclosed. To this aim, at least one black point offset is determined responsive to a color encoding system of the video signal and to a color encoding system of the mapped video signal. The at least one black point offset and the at least one color mapping function are then applied on the video signal to obtain the mapped video signal.

  • Patent number: 8462982
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for inserting watermark assistance data in a bitstream of coded data comprising the step of inserting, in the bitstream, identification data identifying coded data to be substituted and, for each coded data to be substituted, at least one substitution data. The method further comprises a step of inserting in the bitstream a format data defining a manner of substituting the coded data to be substituted by the substitution data.

  • Publication number: 20120054664
Abstract: Methods and systems for optimizing multimedia content or a display of the media content in accordance with an optimal or ideal picture are disclosed. Different content versions that are optimized for different display devices can be remotely generated and transmitted to a receiver connected to the display device. In addition, sets of parameter display settings that are optimized for different display devices can be transmitted to the receiver to permit the display of an optimal picture for multimedia content. Moreover, a description or indication of display device parameters can be transmitted to a remote server for use in the generation of the different versions of content or different sets of parameter display settings.

  • Publication number: 20050172104
Abstract: The present invention relates to a data transfer method of a delegating processor (200), requiring the execution of functions, to a delegate processor (202), that executes these functions based on a function identifier and execution parameters associated with this function, this identifier and these parameters being provided by the delegating processor (200), characterized in that the delegating processor (200) accesses a bank of internal registers (216) of the delegate processor (202) to store in these registers the parameters associated with a function to be executed simultaneously to the execution by the delegate processor of another function.

  • Patent number: 5008746
Abstract: A method and installation are provided for broadcasting high definition television programs, particularly for broadcasting HD-MAC programs on a narrow channel, while reducing degradation of the picture when received by a first generation MAC receiver. The signal obtained by analysis of the source picture is subjected to spatio-temporal subsampling and to non-linear motion compensation filtering, leading to transmitting the points representative of the same source frame over at least two successive transmission frames (t1, t2) and transmitting, at the same time, assistance data defining a motion vector field. To improve the compatible frame delivered by a first generation receiver, the second analysis field corresponding to the same source frame is subjected to time attenuation in the direction of motion.
